Lmao, I low key might have sort of fucked my self. I’m a firm believer of you know, THE SITE RULES, that says once you sell a dragon it’s not yours anymore and you can’t do shit about it, (which apparently most people on here forget that…) But regardless, if you don’t want a dragon exalted then just don’t sell it. I bought a dragon from a user who in big bold letters in MY dragon’s bio had something like “NEVER SELL/EXALT THIS DRAGON!! IF YOU’RE GONNA DO THIS YOUR GONNA GET BLOCKED!! WHY WOULD YOU BUY THIS DRAGON IF YOU’RE GONNA DO THIS!!11!!”. (Bro). I ended up removing it from their bio because it’s my dragon now (call me an asshole I guess). But I happen to check the user and they literally have a “reason why I blocked you” in their profile and in each of their dragon’s bios. So I blocked them first, also their tone was super aggressive (I know you can’t read tone over text but you could literally feel the aggression oozing out of it). But now I’m kinda terrified to get rid of the dragon, mostly cause I blocked them and I’m like 99% certain they haven’t blocked me so they could see me selling/exalting it and come for my ass. I know, I know, I should follow the thing I believe in and it’s my dragon, my rules, but like I don’t want drama around me over nothing…

Them putting that in their dragons’ bios is against the TOS anyways, you’re not allowed to make demands about people not Exalting/selling/etc dragons. Not only that, but uh...isn’t putting block reasons in profiles and bios also against the blacklisting rule? I’m not sure if it would fall under that but it seems like it could.

At any rate if you block them they won’t see any activity from you, and even if they do somehow work out you bought one of their dragons and then got rid of it and come after you, that’s harassment, which is ALSO against the TOS and something they can be reported for.

User ‘J’ here (please, call me JH ;) ), regarding the XXY one off. Just here to set the record straight because this newest 'account’ of what happened is even more lie riddled than the first one. We’ll go point by point.

The user that was 'scammed’ (hereafter referred to as user L) has been here since 2016. I have been here since 2019, but only a month or two of that has been actual playtime. No one 'just joined’ and both of us were effectively new.

I did not buy the dragon from L. A friend of mine did (also inexperienced in the value side of FR) at a price L set for them to buy.

I did not lie. I’ve been VERY transparent about everything that has transpired (there is a thread up explaining everything that happened). You guys are the ones throwing the tantrum, because you want me to be the bad guy so badly. I don’t feel bad calling any of you stupid; you are for just taking what people say at face value.

L was chill about the mis-sale of the dragon and did not seek it’s return. They only expressed an interest in getting the dragon back after seeing the shitshow it’s sale had caused with the expectation that them owning it might shut you all up. They accepted my reasoning when I told them I would not be capitulating to mobbing and harassing behavior by giving it to them. They furthermore came into my inbox on my tumblr with the express purpose telling you all to pipe the fuck down. They never wanted to be white knighted and want this to be over and done with (they even went so far to change their username, delete the original sales thread, and remove comments on their den pitying them for being 'scammed’.).

No one is being traumatized or harmed over a dragon they chose to sell at a price they chose to sell it at, jesus fucking christ.

At this point, the story is just a game of telephone now and as a person who comes from a community where we only believe stuff after its sufficiently capped and proven, it’s wild to me you guys are just accepting whatever comes out of some anonymous person’s mouth.

L is not getting the dragon. It was given to me and I was not apart of the original sale, so I have no reason or responsibility to return it to them and I will especially not be doing it after being threatened with ToS breaks, ostracization, being mobbed, being harassed, ect.

I’m glad you’re not me either. The type of person who gets THIS up in arms over a pixel animal? Days after the fact? The fact that you’re a real person who un-ironically typed this out, who’s upset to this degree over a dumb brown dragon? Creepy.

The XXY-one-off is set to be bred on the 21st (yes i’m aware this lowers his value; no I do not care). Maybe I’ll give L one of his descendants, but the dragon itself is out of the question and that’s due in part to everyone harassing me about it. I hope everything turned out the way you wanted.

I’ll say it again: You claiming the user came to your Tumblr to tell you to tell everyone else to ‘pipe down’, without providing ANY evidence of this fact, only makes it look like you’re trying to cover your ass. If the original owner wanted people to ‘pipe down’, why would they not post it themselves to DR? What’s the difference between telling you to pass the message on (which is hardly believable because you aren’t providing proof) or telling people to drop it themselves?

I’ll admit some people have been taking the thing way too far in their replies, getting super heated and offended, but c’mon you have to realize you aren’t doing yourself any favors by repeatedly bringing it up and then not providing proof of your claims. You repeatedly posting yourself is also contradictory, because if the original owner wants it dropped, you’re only fueling discussion and discourse about it by posting over and over yourself.

Like someone else said, tipping isn’t a worldwide custom. Not everyone knows it’s a thing, and in some places it’s considered bad taste/rude. I will say, however, that people shouldn’t get upset over a 1kT fee for the items they want. They aren’t the ones spending their time trawling the AH for the things they’re after, the Shop owner is. In most cases they’re still getting a discount from normal price even with a ‘service fee’ as it were added on. Or do Shop owners charge their clients normal price and keep the difference? I honestly don’t know how it’s done these days and I never really used Dom Shops before my years’ long hiatus so idr if that was ever the standard practice or not.

Gods I feel this so hard, I keep seeing the threads trading/selling/giving away G1 Nocs and seeing them in the AH for cheap and I already have several projects and I don’t NEED more but I WANT them.

At least we have the Hibden we can shove project dragons into so they aren’t constantly eating our food while waiting to get Gened up and stuff.

It depends on the item really. Fragments, Bolts, Potions, and things like Meditate, Scholar, and Scratch really aren’t ever worth anything. The only things worth selling are Eliminates, Ambushes, and Berserkers, as well as Tinctures but I don’t think those drop from the Coli like the Battle Stones do. In the past the price seemed relatively stable regardless of the time of year, but you’d probably sell faster during NotN/Flight Festivals because those are the times when people are in the Coli grinding their wrists into oblivion for Strange Chests and Festival Chests/Currency.

Those four items are usually in high demand no matter the time of year, though, because Coli grinding is the most effective way of getting Food and other various drops for the people who’s computers can handle it, and afaik the high STR/QCK build is still the most popular and useful one.

Free Art Drama?

Reading the comments on the recent ‘want to give free art’ post made me feel like I’d just been punched. I’ve been making free random art for people for years because I thought it was something everyone enjoyed. I never considered that someone might be upset by that. That’s the opposite of what I want. Now I’m second guessing every bit of gift art I’ve ever made and I probably won’t do it again. :(

I’d personally be stoked to get free art for my dragons, but I can see some people getting upset and preferring not to get it. I’d honestly say the best course of action would be to ask first, and if they say no or don’t reply then to skip them. For all the people who wouldn’t want to get art, there are loads who’d love it, and if giving people art makes you happy then you shouldn’t stop doing it. Just make sure the person you want to do it for is okay with it first :3.

It’s called RNG, OP. Some people could go all of NotN and not get a single Chest from Coli. It’s not about doing anything right or wrong, it all comes down to whether the RNG plays nice or not. And there’s nothing a person can do to affect that aside from going to the Venues with the highest drop rates of Chests.

Also, grinding doesn’t have to mean hours and hours and hours of time spent. The amount of time can vary, I’d say it’s the intent rather than the time spent that qualifies something as grinding or not.

Having an item doesn’t inherently make you rich, especially if someone gave you said item, or gave it to you for super cheap. I mean I doubt anyone gave anyone else ANY KS items for free or super cheap, but my point is having something doesn’t equal having money.

While I agree some names are a bit too lengthy or complicated, I don’t agree in the slightest about dumbing down every single piece of Apparel to ‘generic color name generic clothing name’ either. We’d have so many “White Pants” or whatever to have to search through. It’s bad enough that trying to find a specific thing in the AH that shares part of its name with several other items. I don’t want that to be the case for a whole bunch more things. Besides, I fail to see how expanding your vocabulary a bit is a bad thing.

OP you’d be better off doing Glimmer and Gloom to max out the Lucky Streak every day until you can just buy the Familiars you’re after. The fewer you need the less and less likely they are to drop.

‘Brutally crush’? Unless they came at you demanding you give them the dragon back and somehow attacking you for your purchase, then...how did they ‘brutally crush’ anything? How could being contacted about an obvious misprice be ‘brutally’ anything?

I have a feeling if you were the one who’d done the mispricing and whoever bought the item or dragon told you ‘lol idc fuck off and be more careful next time’ you’d be raging up a storm.
