Patrolling through the ocean is a simple routine, beyond it potentially proving useful in preventing any sort of catastrophe or illegal fishing, Arthur equally liked to cross the waters at his incredible speed and enjoy that feeling of total freedom. At times he’d dip to the lower levels and explore, marvelling at the endless beauties of the ocean, discovering what scientists still yearn to know of the depths.
During one of these times he swam quite deep while crossing the Pacific, noticing a series of strange shaped rocks. Curiosity got the better of him so he swam closer, determined to inspect his new discovery. As he approached however, he had to realise that those rocks were rather parts of buildings. Another hidden city? He could see no movement, so perhaps whatever civilisation lived there was long gone, which was even more reason to take a closer look as he would surely not get into trouble with anyone if the place is deserted.
Gliding among the buildings he marvelled at its architecture, until he noticed something moving and soon after he slowed to a halt. The creature was humongous, he couldn’t quite make out its exact shape, but he could see tentacles. Some kind of a kraken? He has already met his fair share of ancient giants, but nothing like the one before him.
Curiously his telepathy reached out, wanting to touch the creature’s consciousness, test the level of intelligence it has. He simply pushed the command ‘ approach ’ in its mind with deep concentration. To move such a hulking mess will require all his talent
SILENCE. There was no movement.. Whatever lay in the King’s wake did not obey. It would not obey..
Then, the voice. Quaking old as stone, the language a whisper of something long supposed to be dead. The blackness shifted, the shape became less clear. What was assumed part of buildings turned in mass, the mere size larger than anything. Why the KING had ventured to this part of the ocean, the point farthest from land. Desolate, isolated, FORGOTTEN. Authors spoke rarely of this place : Its location spoken of in the hushed whispers of memory.
This was not the normal blackness of the ocean, no. The King could see far beyond that. This place.. Was shrouded. Wrong. Sour... The creatures of the ocean did not venture here, not to this place. This city’s halls long undisturbed.
SILENCE. A sound of shifting mass, before a voice spoke. Within the King’s own mind, rather than through the ocean.
