An old small comic for my OC’s medieval AU. Kir is originally an Oliver’s old friend and ex boyfriend, but here it doesn’t matter and used to be a slow burn story.

Had thoughts about that trope where both get grabbed during a brawl in some random kingdom. Kir is a crown prince just passing through. The redhead is some bandit/mercenary. The guards just arrest everyone without asking questions. Chaos ensues.

Kir is yelling "how dare you treat me like this" — nobody believes him. Too many kingdoms, too many princes. No one knows anyone's face. Everyone in the dungeon just laughs at him.

Oliver (also a bandit) thought it was cringe and told them to leave him alone: "If he really is the son of King N, you'll get hanged tomorrow. Or worse, his daddy will hang you three towns over. Great adventure."

Everyone rolled their eyes at Oliver like "look at this smartass."

At night, the younger one notices Oliver trying to escape and asks to come along. Starts teasing him with his own words about being hanged. But what really works? Kir promises to wake up all the prisoners and the guards if Oliver doesn't take him :33333

They run away. The redhead isn't local either but won't say where he's from. Kir finds walking in silence boring, keeps asking questions. Oliver is not chatty. Puts up with it for like three hours — and then the scene I drew happens:

"So you really are a prince, if you can talk that much”.

Technically Kir could've just walked back to his retinue. But he found it more fun to run off with a hired killer instead :3

2 — Oliver has bad eyesight, but he wears contacts. The ugly spare glasses for emergencies go heeeere

3 — he is just sleeping :3 Danya is the happiest girl on Earth because she can catch him in silly and cute sleeping poses.

I draw him differently depending on my mood. I can't really figure out which version of Oliver I like the most, there are too many of them in my head now, and I want something more definite. Although I do like the idea that he's not actually a physical being, but rather a reflection of the people around him, a Mandela effect. (Then I don't have to come up with anything yaaaay!)
