Do you know where the fae live?
I am being haunted by @neil-gaiman . This is what living in the Midwest is like, you will see Neil Gaimanâs autograph everywhere. You will be told stories about him randomly. You will find out that used to frequent your favorite coffee shop.
Three days ago, I knew peace, then I read âThe Graveyard Bookâ, my first Gaiman book, and began seeing Gaiman everywhere. Go to Chapter2Books in Hudson, autographed posters in the wall. My favorite coffee shop? Oh yeah he used to hang out there and write. The cool ass bookstore across the street, Dream Haven? They published âAngels and Visitationsâ and hosted a ton of book signings. I briefly open Instagram, click on a friendâs story and see him, this cool goth man that is now everywhere. I find no sanctuary. I read a mildly spooky story on Reddit, innocently scroll through the comments and there it is: âSounds like a Neil Gaiman storyâ. If you walk into literally any bookstore in the Midwest, all the books are signed by him. If you think there is a single quaint and inviting place in Minneapolis, people will find you and provide you with unsolicited Neil Gaiman lore about how in the 90âs Gaiman frequented the shop and the ownerâs cousinâs uncleâs brotherâs nephew was the inspiration for Bod.
