you really have no responsibilities as a melee dps. whole team could be falling apart around you and nothing you can even do about it but keep hitting the boss

#not all melee dps #as my husbun pointed out Monk is a very big team player #also #if you arent using feint on hard hitting raidwides then maybe start doing that #itll help out your healers a lot #also you can use bloodbath and second wind to maintain your own health as necessary so that the healers can focus on recovering the team #you have buttons. that you dont use them is a skill issue #but yeah uh monk and reaper my beloveds #monk especially. they do it all. damage reduction. healing boost. damage buff #perfect melee class

i think my favorite ff14 narrative gimmick is that the savage raid unlocks are explicitly just the WOL having adhd daydreams about the cool shit they've done. the omega raids are even explicitly about cid trying to put on an ASMR tibetan meditation spotify playlist to calm them down but the WOL is unmedicated so it really only makes the problem worse
