“Indeed. I had hoped to visit my father and aunt for the evening, but they both ended up having to work for the duration of the night. A shame, but to be expected.” Though she seemed to care more about it than she was trying to let on.

He waved a crispy drumstick. “But aren’t they nearly all corporate traditions?” He didn’t really mind, the important thing was that they could be enjoyed with friends and family. And he’d never say no to food.

“I should have known you’ve already gotten it. I’ve just been enjoying the side quests. Someone’s got to spread holiday cheer to all of the locals! Santa Fret will not snub the worthy!”

“Not quite so blatantly specific, I would argue.” Still, she got KFC every year so you didn’t see her complaining, necessarily.

“Of course. There is quite a delight in finishing an event, as it’s by no means an easy feat. Perhaps I’ll make some progress tonight for lack of my previous plans coming to fruition.”

“Thanks, Boss! Is it really officially Christmas without fried chicken?” He happily took a portion. “Have you been playing the Elestra holiday event?” He was pretty certain of the response already, but he still asked.

“I’d dare say it would. Fried chicken on Christmas Eve was pushed by KFC itself in 1970 as a replacement for the traditional, American turkey dinner. Tis a rather corporate ‘tradition’.” A pause. “Though still quite a tasty one.”

“But of course. Though I intend to play as much as possible, I already received Lord Tomonami’s Christmas costume, so I’m content.”

Nagi definitely did order fried chicken for Christmas Eve. She was supposed to be with her father and aunt but they had to work so. She had over three people’s worth of fried chicken if any of her friends want some.

“I didn’t notice the mistletoe before…they must have recently put it up!” Perhaps that was a small white lie…she had noticed it a little while ago, when they actually first put it up in front of the library. Maybe that was why she got Nagi to come to the library with her…perhaps~

With a smile and a gentle blush, Kira twirled forward and walked innocently to the library. “That was…what?” she inquired with a glance given over her shoulder.

Yup she’s pouting now. She’s not used to someone having the upper hand like this over her.

“As I was saying, it was not necessary to do that just because tradition dictates we do,” she said as she followed Kira in, playing with her baided hair.
