three-ish month throwback: halong bay, vietnam [10.26.2013] this feels like an entire l i f e t i m e ago, I tell ya. I haven't gone through my thousands of pics yet, but dropbox was kind enough to bring these to my attention (via reminding me - once again - that I maxed out the space very early on in the trip and they'd like to $offer$ some more space. nope.)

my jeans somehow still fit. so that's a Christmas miracle.

hah!

I had high ambitions of getting up on California time this morning and doing all sorts of things.

"I’ll get right back on track and beat jet lag!," I told myself. "I’ll knock out laundry and mail sorting and unpacking. maybe I’ll even cook for the first time in oh, six months. it’ll be great!"

currently glued to the couch. unable to function highly enough to even change the channel. the remote is already in my hand.

Batur Mountain, Bali a 1:30am wake up call (you read that exactly right) is tough. climbing nearly vertical rocky, gravelly goat paths by flashlight sucks. nearly being blown off a mountain isn't ideal. coffee 'brewed' at the top of a 1717m high active volcano is gross. watching the sun rise over Bali & Lombok and hanging out with monkeys and puppies was totally worth it.

Merry Christmas from Ubud, Bali! we've spent the day saving drowning dragonflies and picking out spa treatments. its been rough.

over 72 hours, we’ve set foot in 3 countries. we survived a crash course on Singapore (above) and a disgustingly early wakeup call. and we made it to Bali. its raining.
