It’s been so long but I’m playing inquisition again and I feel like this is my best playthrough yet. Sappho Lavellan does not mince words. She’s dalish, believes in elvhen gods, and will not accept when anyone calls her “chosen.” She’s unbothered by religion and the chantry, but she is not rude about it. She sees that Cassandra, Leliana, and the other advisors want to what’s right (seal the rifts and defeat Corypheus), and she knows she has power because of a huge mistake at the conclave, so she is willing to help. She is, admittedly, a flirt. And she is a badass - she will not pretend to entertain ideas she does not believe in. She is confused by Solas and Sera; they are so unlike her dalish clan. She is down to earth, fixed-minded, unemotional, probably a Taurus. She cares about helping people and she will not sit around and listen to people making excuses for those she considers evil. She makes so much sense and I am so proud to have waited a whole year before replaying this game, so I could create such a thoughtful character.

Confession: I wish there was a way to tell your (non-romanced) companions you love them.  I really liked the option to tell a non-romanced Sera that she’s family and I would have liked to see similarly affectionate platonic options for all companions.  Maybe in DA4?
