Somebody was telling me last week that they didn't like the Aegon scenes because his character seems to be stuck in place, so we're shown the same scenarios with him over and over and it feels pointless because there isn't an arc

And I thought for a minute and said "Well yeah, but what if it isn't Aegon's arc we're following right now? What if the point of the Aegon/Larys plot is to follow LARYS' arc?" and I'd like to pat myself on the back this week for being a clever bitch who knows Aegon is not gonna fuckin change his ways and Larys is TIRED of even using him as a pawn now lmfaooooooooo

This entire series is about privileged kids crying like they have it so hard when there’s people in flea bottom who don’t even know where their next meal is coming from. Just whinge, whinge when you’ve had every opportunity that everyone would kill for. The most neglected Targaryen has a better life than every commoner.

This is also the first time, other than him jerking off to Alicent feet,that we’ve ever seen Larys really speak his mind.

You know Daemon love Rhaenyra because she got his ass praying to some gods he don’t even believe in 😭 it also shows how much he cares about his men who are being brutally killed AND without pay. He’s not a great person, but he is fiercely loyal to those he cares about and I respect that. It definitely really pains him to see Rhaenyra falling deeper and deeper into this spiral of madness too.

On the flip side, Rhaenyra thinks of herself as falling victim to some unforeseen enemy when the reality is, a lot of her problems are self inflicted. Cracking down on dissent, disrespecting people who helped her win the throne, etc. she’s digging herself deeper and deeper.

I know this might make people mad, but absolutely refusing to even attempt to treat your mental illness, and instead just endlessly inflicting your unmitigated episodes on the people around you, is abusive. Your loved ones are not stress toys that you can just squeeze every time you feel bad. It is bad if someone says your repeated behavior is hurting them, and you take no steps to change. I know damn well that you can’t always help how your brain acts, but I’ve also spent a lot of years trying to stop my spiraling brain in its tracks, work on strategies to calm down, and consider the impact I’m having on others, because I grew up in a household with people who have the attitude of, “I have the right to consume all the attention in the house and drain your energy every single day because I feel miserable, and you’re the bad guy if you say that I’m making you feel bad and that I need to get help. I can treat you however I want because of my anxiety.”
