“let people enjoy things” is quickly becoming a very dangerous phrase

Yesterday, police in riot gear attacked BLM protesters in New York City.

Footage showed that they were grabbing and pushing protesters to the ground. While in full gear.

These people were protesting in a public space (i.e. not breaking into the US Capitol) and protesting for their rights (i.e. not just throwing a fit because their favourite politician got voted out in a democratic election).

These protesters did not have assault rifles, did not attempt to take hostages, and did not attempt to pipe bomb a public government building.

If the police are so “unbiased and fair”, where the fuck were they on Jan. 6? 

It’s a cycle. It’s continuing. We need it to stop.

I sincerely hope Biden does at least the bare minimum about this.

The police departments operate on a double standard. Always. Call. Them. Out. Ignorance of the problem only perpetuates it.

Teamster Strike

January 18, 2021. New York

Police made two demonstrations violent by charging, injuring, and arresting people at protests for police accountability and workers striking for a $1/hr pay increase. Over 30 people were arrested at the two actions, double the number of arrests of white supremacists who stormed the Capitol in DC.

The Teamster workers arrested have since all been released and are striking again.

NYPD PBA tweeted this the same day they beat and arrested people demonstrating for Black lives and for higher pay.
