Communication Design | Reflection
After submitting my last assignment, I sat in front of my desk, recalled what happened in this semester.
Still, remember the first class when I came to this class, I was prepared to study a lot of communication design theory as well as the operation of Adobe applications. However, Andy and Karen just asked us to make alphabets with the things in our bags. I was so surprised that the class in our university can be this fun!
Instead of working with the computer, we did a lot of hand-making designs. Besides, Andy and Karen gave us sufficient time to try and explore. We were encouraged to make letters with a variety of materials such as geometric shapes, photography etc. I was inspired by these classes when I did my assignments.
I have done two projects of communication design this semester. The first one named “ Hello, my question is...”, which asked us to ask a design question and show this question with the materials we like. My question is “what designers have done for this world?” For this assignment, I walked around the Melbourne CBD and took the photos of everything that I considered is designed. This experience taught me to pay more attention to the things around me. The second project is an interview. Because of this interview, I have known more things about the photographer as well as photography. What’s more, I have learned how to use InDesign and make the zine.
At the end of this semester, I am starting to expect the next semester. I wish I will have more fantastic experience in the next semester.
