I’ve made a series of Star Wars symbols combined with florals and geometric shapes. I’ve always been really self-conscious about how I’ve drawn flowers, but after being a part of the bullet journal and brush lettering communities for some time I managed to pick up the courage to try my hand at them again. The designs are inspired by Courtney McIntyre, admin of the wonderful Facebook group called Bounce Lettering 101. Check her out on Instagram, @lettermylife.

A few weeks ago a 15-year-old called me “Grandma” for being able to remember when the first Twilight film came out, and I still haven’t mentally or emotionally processed this

More fun with the Karin BrushMarkerPROs. There seems to be no end to the mistakes. I missed the word “birds” in the Scartissue quote, the background wash for Granny Weatherwax is lined af and I put my hand in the middle of a still wet flower on the lettering piece. I have no patience.
Trying my hand at silhouettes and lettering on watercolor backgrounds. Lettering with a paintbrush is HARD! That nuisance is killing me...
Found this on a t-shirt online and had to copy it while trying out my new Karin brushmarkers. It just speaks to me on a spiritual level. Haven’t done watercoloring since I was a kid, but it’s fun!
May the force be with you, always
Happy Star Wars Day! Trying to pump myself up for the last six weeks of work before summer break. I need me some badass Luke Skywalker.Â

Flashback to high school. However, isn’t that a stationwagon?
During the 1930s, a Russian family fled so far into Siberia to escape religious persecution that they had no idea WWII had even happened. When the Lykovs were discovered by geologists in 1978, they lived 150 miles from the nearest settlement, and it had been 40 years since they’d spoken to another human being.
During the purges of the 1930s, a Communist patrol shot Lykov’s brother on the outskirts of their village while Lykov knelt working beside him. He responded by scooping up his family and bolting into forest.  Â
Neither of the youngest children had ever seen bread before, nor had they seen a human being who was not a member of their family. They were born after the move, so all they knew of the outside world they learned entirely from their parents’ stories. The father was intelligible, but the daughters spoke a language distorted by a lifetime of isolation.  Â
After reaching the outside world, the family quickly declined. In the fall of 1981, three of the four children followed their mother to the grave within a few days of one another. Â
The two survivors, father and daughter, rebuilt their camp and refused to leave the forest. When the father later died, Agafia still refused to leave the taiga.
As of 2016, she reportedly still lives there in complete isolation.
