Norah resisted the urge to blush at his comment, punching him lightly in the arm instead. “Damn right I should,” she quipped, glancing at him from the passenger’s seat. One thing that came as both a blessing and a curse to the doctor was the fact that she had such high self-worth. On the one hand, it made her confident enough to speak up for herself and fight for her own opportunities. On the other hand, it gave her a bit of a sense of entitlement. “You burn coffee water? Next time we’re on shift together I’m going to teach you how to not do that. Also – I must just be gross as fuck but that sounds kind of awesome,” she chuckled, thanking the valet after the door was opened for her before meeting Eliot near the front of his car. The brunette didn’t know why she didn’t realize earlier, but damn he had a nice ride. And the restaurant? Not too shabby, either. “Thank you, sir,” she said, tipping an imaginary hat playfully and following him in. “If you say so – what, do you spill all your deep, dark secrets when you get tipsy?.”
The punch didn’t hurt, but he acted like it did for humor and her ego, It was a cute reaction he wasn’t expecting from her. With a chuckle, he nodded to confirm, sucking in a breath. “ It’s not easy, but eventually you leave a kettle or an old school coffee maker on while you’re watching the game, you fall asleep and then....” He laughed to end his story. “ Not my proudest moment, but even I have flaws.” He half-joked. “ Thankfully I upgraded and it has a timer so my place doesn’t burn down. The plesant conversation on pause, ELiot gave a proper nod in return before placing his hand on the small of her back and ushering her forward, tugging on the door handle and giving her a gentle nudge in before him. Another laugh, but this time he shook his head no. “ I am not a graceful drunk, I can admit that, but I never spill my secrets. I plan on taking every dirty detail to the grave with me. If anything, at least I don’t kiss and tell that way.” He smirked as he moved with her towards the hostess. He was fresh from a shift, and wasn’t exactly dressed as well as he should have been , but he’d eaten here before, and a dress code meant nothing when you had a black card. Seated instantly, he continued to play the role as he pulled out her chair before getting seated himself. “ Order anything you want, not holding back, okay? I wont judge so long as you don’t at me probably ending up having lobster and pasta. I’m carb loading an d I wont say otherwise.”
