Plot for the book I'm going to write.
A village is attacked by a group of soldiers from the castle. Two babies are left orphaned. One is found and whisked away to be adopted by the royal family to inherit the throne. The other is left with survivors. For many years the kingdom and village people are at war. James and Ben are reunited. Someone kills James's fiancé, (Elizabeth)whom he needs become king. Ben is wrongly accused of murder. James's most trusted friend, captain Ross, killed Elizabeth so that prince James , who has no royal blood, would not be allowed to become king. As it turns out, James and Ben are actually offspring of King Charles/Phillip, and he knew about this all along. The order was to bring both babies to the castle, not to have the village attacked. Of course, this order was not carried out correctly by captain Ross, who would have been next in line for the throne if there was no heir.
