The Okie who once had a mild Strokie is back with some mild musings about the sport he loves!!
Brandon Yelder's kryptonite has been FOUND!!! After absolutely dominating the competition for nearly a year, Big Money has now been beaten twice by Vic Jericho, in two consecutive pay-per-view Main Events!!! Yelder's not used to losing, it'll be interesting to see how he handles himself from here on out! Let's just hope he doesn't "pull a Daniels."
Vic Jericho's comeback story is unbelieveable, folks!! The man totally re-invented himself after his crushing loss to Shawn Hacaga at Wrestlemania 9, and VJ 2.0 has had a spectacular 2011! His Wrestlemania 10 victory over Darien settled a longtime grudge, while his Royal Rumble victory proved that The Miz just isn't ready to hang with the big boys!! After finally putting another longtime rivalry, this one with Raven, to rest, VJ set his sights back on the biggest prize in the game, and not only did he defeat Brandon Yelder at Anarchy Rulz, he kept Kristian Jones out of the rematch by defeating him too, and proved that his win over Yelder wasn't a fluke by defeating him AGAIN in Armageddon's Main Event!! And just last night at Christmas Chaos, he defeated The Rock to retain again and close out the year as Champion!!!!!
You all have no idea how close the name Armageddon nearly came to coming true! I've warned you before. Start chipping in around here, or the only game in town will be that dreaded uncreative pisshole, IWA!
Synyster put on another amazing performance at Armageddon. The Sin City Saint has now defeated Raven and Max Payne on consecutive PPVs, and that's nothing to sneeze at!! If I had my way, I'd say it's time for Synyster to set his sights on a certain superstar from South of the Border...in a ONE ON ONE situation.
I don't know if I like the way things are headed for this company, with Rob Van Dam's recent change of attitude, as Curt Hennig isn't exactly the rosiest owner either. It's surely not the best time to ask for a raise, folks!
The NGW World Heavyweight Championship was contested legitimately at 8 events this year, and The Rock was the challenger at 3 of them. There is no denying The Rock's talent, and he DID win both a Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber, but here's hoping that title shots are distributed a little more fairly in 2012.
Cherry Bomb did it again!!! Is there anyone who can dethrone the reigning Women's Champion?! She's even taking on MEN now!!!
Major congratulations go out to Finlay for capturing the MTV Title for a third time, tying The Miz for most reigns with the belt. I hope Finlay doesn't think this is the last he's seen of Brian Aguirre, though! That man is becoming more aggressive by the day and he truly is dangerous!
Congratulations also go out to AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy for winning the Tag Team Titles!! AJ better be careful though, not only because of his history of untrustworthy tag team partners, but Jeff Hardy's a risk to pawn his title belt for Extra Strength Nyquil if there ever was one!!!
Another congrats go out to Toxic Dragon for winning the Bloodshot Title in an entertaining brawl with Matt Frost. The Bloodshot Title is tailor made for a wrestler like Toxic Dragon, let's hope he has some fun with it!
Call it what you want, karma or no karma...it's still Abyss dressed as a woman.
Christmas 2011 has come and gone, and NGW STILL has not produced a "H3H" t-shirt! Come on!!!
Kristian Jones calling out Rob Van Dam may have not been the best idea, but it sure showed guts on his part!!! I don't know WHY RVD is suddenly targeting Mr. Blackout, but he really could've used some help out there against Yelder and TDP!!!
The Raven/Daniels Caskets Match was a great one, and it was nice to see Raven standing on top of the casket to close it out. Daniels has had a BAD year, folks!
I was sad to see Bob Holly go, but he had quite a disappointing year. After coming in hot with a win over HBK at Wrestlemania, Holly got injured prior to what would've been a stellar match with Xavier Laroux at the Rumble, then returned months later a shell of his former self, serving as the whoopin' post for XL and Michael Norcia!! Here's to hoping Holly can someday return to NGW in top form.
NGW has sent Fat Francis to weight loss camp, but despite all of our efforts, the man just continues to GAIN WEIGHT! When asked about this phenomenon, all he ever does is talk about getting HIV from a black hooker one night in McGregor, Texas. I give up, damn it!!!
What's going on between Mr. Perfect and Chris Vaude?!
There are so many superstars on the rise in NGW. I expect to see even bigger impacts made by the likes of Xavier Laroux, Max Payne, TDP and Brian Aguirre in 2012...if I didn't mention you here, it just means you need to step it up a notch!!! I haven't seen so much raw talent in a company since UCW in 2000, and that was the greatest time in the history of our business!!!
Congratulations to The Miz's Team Awesome for winning NGW Fantasy Football's Super Bowl over Matt Frost!! The league sort of lost its luster halfway through, but here's hoping for some improvements next year!
On the other hand, NGW Fantasy Basketball has just begun!!! I don't follow that sport though. Sorry, folks.
Happy New Year!!! I'll be spending it laying down by the fire with my wife, our dog Sooner, and a hot glass of BBQ sauce!! See you next year!!!
