"Well, I can tell this is a sensitive subject," Vienna said, conceding the argument with a shrug. She refused to stoop so low with somebody who clearly didn't care enough about their own wellbeing. Everything she was against was only for Juno's best interests and she would not be guilted into thinking otherwise. "I'm only saying this because I care about her. I just don't want her to get hurt. I'm sorry if you don't have anyone in your corner that cares about you enough to do the same." Vienna knew how bad it sounded as soon as she'd finished the thought. So much for playing nice. Luka, too, didn't know when Vienna decided to make it a habit to bother him while he was at work, especially given the fact that he'd tried to make it very clear that he's not the person he was three years ago (and thank god for that). "I wouldn't hate you, but I think the Starbucks corporation wouldn't be too happy with me, give me two and I can grab one for you?" he suggested, glancing over his shoulder at her. "I also told you kombucha was a bad choice in the first place, you just didn't listen to me. No drink should have that... texture."

"Oh, I don't carry cash," Vienna said, slowing backing her hand away from the display case. Hopefully, no one had caught her in the act. It was bad enough that she was known as the one-hit wonder, but she wouldn't be able to take the name-calling for stealing from Starbucks of all places. She hadn't sunk that low, yet. "I just have to cut back on caffeine. You should have seen my Instagram stories after my third espresso shot."

        juno  glances  up  from  her  phone  and  over  to  vienna  before  her  gaze  shifts  down  to  the  phone  .  it  only  takes  her  a  moment  to  scan  through  the  contents  of  the  message  .  “  i’m  sure  it’s  just  a  rough  patch  ,  ”  she  suggests  in  an  attempt  to  comfort  vienna  .  it’s  gotta  be  tough  .  one  movie  really  can  make  or  break  a  performance  .  “  i  don’t  know  about  moving  to  the  italian  countryside  ,  ”  she  starts  .  “  but  i  can  be  convinced  to  take  a  trip  there  for  the  summer  instead  of  the  hamptons  .  ”

Sighing, Vienna took one last look at the message before she pocketed her phone. "Waiting for it to blow over is the worst. Shit, what if it never does? I mean, they still haven't forgiven Russell Crowe for Les Mis," she answered as she gave her a half-hearted smile. "But thanks, J. Like, I would have lost it with you and Maribel." Had it been from anyone else, she would have refused the pity altogether but she actually believed it knowing that it was instead coming from Juno. "My dad would probably let us book out one of the nicer suites. Ideally, we would be spending most of the time by the beach anyways."

"Vienna." Voice stayed steady, too steady, really. Lacking any emotion except the slight raise of an eyebrow. "What a lovely surprise." Not at all. Of course, the Salvos were apt to continue to build their restaurant empire. And his mom loved hotels. They were a place to exude elegance, with an ever steady customer base. Win win. "So you gonna say anything or just stare at me? I wouldn't really blame you."

Mockingly, Vienna stuck a finger in her mouth and gagged. His ever charming might have worked on her before, but Duke was just far too much trouble than he was worth. And even though she wouldn't try to stop the deal from moving forward, the thought of seeing a lot more of him left a bad taste in her mouth. "Was this my dad's idea? I swear his favourite hobby is torturing me."

Though she tried to hide it, she would be lying if she said that getting passed up for roles wasn't getting harder and harder to deal with. "One more of those and I might just change my name and move to the Italian countryside. White Lotus just made it look so fun. Seriously, what would I have to say to convince you and Maribel to join me there?"

Vienna didn't remember when or why she made it a hobby to bother Luka when he was working, but she desperately needed the company now that she barely worked. If anything, it was as good a reason as any to leave her apartment and get herself out of spiraling into her own thoughts. "Now, would you hate me if I reached over and grabbed a scone?"

She waited for Roman at his place while he stepped out to do god knows what and even though she shouldn't have been surprised to see Sage, a part of her didn't want to open the door. "Ugh, go home. He's not here," she said from behind the door. After a moment too long, she swung the door open to let him in.

Vienna lifted her hands up as if to show that she would back off. Their father was a touchy subject and the two clearly didn't see eye to eye, but it always felt awkward to avoid speaking about him as if the giant elephant wasn't sucking the air out of the room. But, she liked Roman too much to push him away. "Okay, I get it. You won't hear about him again if you try a few shirts on. Oh, maybe we can even get a matching set."

One of the many benefits of having a friend who owned his own club were the free things she could take when Hunter wasn’t looking. As tough as he came across to everyone else, Vienna crashed at his place enough times to know that he more generous than he let on. Really, she wouldn’t be surprised if he let her get away with it in the first place. Vienna was about to ask for more appetizers to snack on when she spotted him near the bar. “I know this looks bad,” she said as she pushed her plates back to the bartender. “To be fair, I didn’t have lunch and you actually shouldn’t be drinking on an empty stomach.”

With Hunter's seal of approval, Vienna downed her drink before gesturing to the bartender for another. "You'll go bankrupt if you keep letting me mooch off of your kitchen," she said with a shit-eating grin to match. "But, if that's a sacrifice we're willing to make to make, so be it." Pushing back playfully at Hunter, she turned to face him in her seat and her shoulders slumped every so slightly when she met his eyes. "Is this what I've become? My career goes to shit and I end up being a freeloader? You're in college and you have this club and I..." Vienna let the thought trail off. She'd known Hunter had plenty to deal with as it was, but the words came out of her before she could stop. "Sorry, sorry. I think that's the alcohol talking 'cause I'm, like, fine. Anyways, we should talk about something else. Did you give my idea for a 70s disco night any more thought?"

"Jesus, Lulu, that was uncalled for," Vienna answered, surprised that they would go for such a low blow. Even though she had read worse scrolling through her Twitter feed, hearing it said to her face hurt more than she wanted to admit. What the hell did Juno see in them? Lulu was right about one thing—Juno was an adult. It didn't make any sense that she wanted to be friends with somebody as childish and petty as Lulu. But, Vienna doesn't say any of that. She owed to Juno not to alienate her friends despite how badly they tested her patience. "I know we don't get along, but I think we should, like, keep things civil. Seriously, can you blame me for being a little worried about her hanging out with you and your friends? You would be too."

Much like how she often reacted whenever she spotted Lulu's car. Vienna rolled her eyes. As if she could really blame her for being a little weary. She knew full well what Juno got up to on her free time and Vienna just couldn't approve of the company she kept outside of her and Maribel. Lulu and her friends were bad news—plain and simple. "You're kidding me, right? You and the cast of Fast and the Furious are driving around terrorizing New York, but suddenly I'm the bad guy?"

Vienna smiled, nudging Aika's arm playfully when she'd mentioned the scare. Did she feel bad that she had to practically scare the other girl into going to the doctor? Maybe a little, but better now than to risk giving up her cello altogether. "You'll be fine. I can even tag along," she offered. "And you can pay me back with tickets to your next show?"
