Idea for a future PMATGA fanfic
Okay so it's been exactly four months since I lost my macbook, and consequently my most recent files and ideas. I've already gotten over the loss and mostly moved on; but apparently I have not moved on from SOME of it lmao and this is just me ranting and sharing ideas in one place to get it off my chest
One of the things I lost with my macbook's unfortunate demise was a sketch of Zac's age chart. I had a sketch of his (current) adult age, a sketch of him as a teen, and a sketch of him as a child. They were still in the sketching phase but they turned out really, really well, and were ready for final render whenever I was ready for it. Tragically, I never got the chance, and unfortunately the sketches were not backed up before my mac died :(
Thankfully they were still just sketches, and I can always redraw them and make them better. It's just that feeling of sadness you have when you lose a sketch with a lot of potential, and even though you could redraw it, it won't necessarily be the same. That's really the biggest loss I still feel, the rest of the lost files (recent work, not backed-up work) were more like little stings that went away eventually.
But that being said, I DO plan on redrawing those sketches and make some really cool age charts for Zac, Sunny, Spheria, Sir C, and maybe even Stratos and Betrayus.
The reason for this is because I've been thinking of an idea for a new long-form fanfic, where we follow the lives of young Zac, Sunny, Spheria, Sir C, and the Spheros brothers and what their story was long before the war.
This fanfic MAY not come to fruition though - I don't think its wise to add another long-form fanfic to my roster when I'm still working on The Veil and Call Me Cyli, lol.
But IF things work out and I can at least finish CMC, then the next fanfic I'd love to do is this one.
A tentative summary/proof of concept:
We start with Spheria, aged between 10 and 13, and her tumultuous world after her mother's death, when social workers sent her to live with her biological father, whom she barely knew, and his own family with already-established lives. Spheria is introduced to her 9-year old half-sister, Sunny, and has to navigate complicated feelings of grief, family, belonging, and acceptance in a world that clashes so sharply with the life she was used to on the streets. The two half-sisters had a rocky start, and Spheria had even more trouble accepting her father and her step-mother, but eventually, after years of bonding, adapting, and finding her feet in her new life, Spheria integrated into her new family and came to love Sunny deeply. Fast-forward to their teens, and they go through high school together and meet Zac, Stratos, and Peri (Sir C's old nickname), who each have their own stories to be explored: Peri's eager interest in all things scientific and inventive, Stratos working hard on his grades while navigating a toxic and crumbling family-life back at home, and an adventurous Zac wanting to follow in his father's footsteps of becoming an archeologist and uncovering the full history of Yellow Ones and their powers, as well as trying to figure out why Yellow Ones were dwindling in numbers. All while falling head-over-heels for Sunny. All these teens form their own tightly-knit group, and by the end of high-school, they were thick as thieves. But trouble brews on the horizon when Stratos' little brother, Trayus, descends deeper into his own darkness and his inner demons. This is the prelude of how the long saga of Betrayus' villainy came to be, and will follow Zac, Sunny, Spheria, Sir C, Stratos, and Trayus in their seemingly-normal lives, until it all leads up to where it all went wrong and how the war started, and the legacy that Pac will inherit, come his time.
It's a mouthful, but it's a concept that genuinely makes me feel excited to work on it!
It's definitely intended to be a prequel to the show, and I have so many ideas to really dive deep into the lore and backstory of these characters, while also adding a TON of lore to the world of PMATGA itself.
And hey if things work out, I might even make this prequel officially canon in The Veil's timeline, too >:)
So I'm gonna kick the sadness of the mac loss out and try my best to make this all a reality.
... But first, let's get some updates out for CMC and The Veil, yeah? XD
