money diaries bc i’m almost a crazy homeowner now
Have any of you read these on Refinery29? Sometimes I get s t r e s s e d because people send money on some truly stupid stuff
Monthly Payments:
Rent - $600 (I have roommates + family roommates), it’ll be $2100 for two months if we close
Grad School Loan - $255 (really hoping b*den comes through a loan forgiveness, but in 5 years most of it will be forgiven)
Coffee - $8/bag (split with bf)
Car Insurance - $70.06

Saturday 4/24
Did the inspection. Was planning on buying coffee, but we decided not to since we still have beans at home. Agent brought us Starbucks so that was nice! Didn’t have to buy coffee or make coffee later. Went to a public market thing at the local downtown area. Got grilled fish tacos (not the best, rice and beans were really sad) - $12.62 (15% tip) Got a coffee since I was impressed they roasted their beans in house - $3.50 + $1 tip. Gonna try to resist going to Daiso and getting more school supplies.
/ got ice cream ($4.65) with a friend. child's scoop and it was still too much ☹️
Total - $21.72
Sunday 4/25
Went to a Filipino Market with Chris - got two different bbq chicken plates and shared. Pretty good! I liked the ginger-y marinade in one of them. Got some stickers for my Hydroflask ($5) and some handmade earrings from a vendor ($15)
Went to Blue Bottle and got some cold brew - it’s New Orleans blend that Chris likes ($20)
Van Leeuwen ice cream!!! I’ve never been to a shop so wanted to try. Got an ice cream sandwich with mint ice cream ($9)
Bubs parents are helping with the house so we got them some sweets from a local Taiwanese place (mochi and some mung bean cakes). I got some popcorn for us and a warm tofu pudding (split with Chris $25.95)
Sunday Total: $61.98
Monday Total: $0! - Woke up later than I wanted to so didn't make breakfast. Had meal prep for lunch. Reaaaally wanted to go to the local bakery but I'm working late tomorrow so I'll probably treat myself then. Chris got a pizza since our dinner was a little small. Thawing some fish up for dinner tomorrow!
Tuesday 4/27
The coffee we got is so so strong I thought my heart would leap out of my chest. Today kinda just happened and I didn't like that another mentor just dumped his mentor period on me!!! Like what!!! But I got Poppycake and got to watch some soccer so it wasn't a terrible day.
Poppycake turkey Cranberry sandwich, cheese Danish and tea - $17.20
Boba for student who scored a hat trick - $5
