hi peter!!! i was thinking about the charming siblings again and i wanted to ask what some of your cinderella kid headcanons are??? (including dizzy and jane) ily 💙✨

✨🩵 FIRST AND FOREMOST the thing i deeply regard as canon all the way into my soul timeline be damned: I think Chloe has been into Swords & Shields (or whatever we call it) ever since she was super little, and always begging Chad to teach her or let her play with his gear and he was always so annoyed (big age gap affecting their bond, being annoyed when ur little sibling follows u around like a duckling, and chads just like general chadness) Until watching his matches after D2 once Lonnie is captain and Chloe got to see a girl on the team. Idolized her immediately. SO ofc Chad gets jealous and starts trying to teach his sister a thing or two and actually acknowledging her interest in the sport LMAO. canon to me ok!!

✨💙 second I think as tweens Chad probably often tried to convince Jane to do little magical favors for him, and she was always too nervous since its so frowned upon (i mean. technically against the law. I GUESS.) but he constantly would whine and pout and call her his Fairy Godsister (in thinly veiled attempts to guilt her) and maybe she gave in MAYBE one time and immediately got in huge trouble (and he probably got in Way less trouble)

✨🩵 I think after d1 Cinderella and Fairy Godmother sort of talk and swap some parenting philosophies too. Jane gets more freedom and room to grow into her confidence :) without her mom hovering and as much she really gets a chance to find out who Jane is!!! she joins cheer, grows out her hair, takes charge of party planning, etc!!! meanwhile then Chad gets a little less forgiveness— he's expected to be more respectful and kinder. (which is why he's so bitchy abt girls on the roar team in particular bc he feels like he cant get in trouble for being a sexist dick when its a Rule he can Point to... he's got a long way to go but he'll get there) But overall it leads to them bonding bc Jane has a chance to feel secure in who she is and Chad has less power to tear people down. So their dynamic is a little repaired on these journeys. and he can mope around her and complain abt silly small things , and she can ramble off to him and panic about silly small things without feeling invalidated. and they probably get to realize the other is just, like, a normal person. Their friend? Family, even?

✨💙 And finally I think Dizzy is the person Chloe calls for advice or if she's sad and just needs someone to knock her out of it. (Jane, and more recently Chad, are very good listeners too!! Jane will always validate her and is so reassuring, Chad is a nice to wall to vent at that really feels like he's not paying attention but probably is, not that he wants her to realize that. not that he has any good advice to give either LMAO) But Dizzy will always have some perspective that she doesn't expect, or be able to give that push towards pursuing a solution that maybe Chloe didn't want to admit. She always hears and sees her completely, and also Chloe just loves hearing what Dizzy's been up to and what shes been designing with Evie and updating Dizzy on her life, too!!

today i want to acknowledge everyone who made this movie possible, even if they don't all fit in a single gifset. thank you to the cast yes, even the dog for making me love and care about these characters as much as i do. thank you to josann and sara for managing to create something fresh and exciting out of long beloved disney stories. thank you to mark hofeling for being a disney channel veteran (20+ dcoms!) and still being able to bring entirely distinct worlds to life. thank you to kara saun for the coolest, brightest costumes that so efficiently told us exactly who those characters were and the journey they were going through. thank you to the rest of the crew for contributing in any way, shape or form. thank you to disney channel for continuously telling stories that resonate with so many generations. and finally, thank you to kenny ortega for his vision, for the inexplicable magic he brings into every single one of his projects and for making movies that have made a profound impact on me in such different stages of my life. thank you all for changing something in me all those years ago.
