New York City ballet production of Midsummer Nights Dream
The fact this isn't a painting is a testament to one of the greatest feats of set design and production I've ever seen.
My god just look at this! The lighting, set design, photography... I've just never seen anything like it.

Favourite Historical Couples- Anne Neville x Richard III:
Richard’s inscription in a medieval romance of “Tant Le Desiree,” or “I have longed for it so much,” demonstrates an awareness of chivalric expectations as to the rescue and protection of a damsel in distress.
A copy of the New Testament owned by Richard, and now kept in the New York Public Library, also bears the motto, “A Vous My Ly,” “I am bound to you,” in his own hand. It is interesting to consider whether it derives from the period when marriage was at the forefront of his mind, and he could satisfy chivalric requirements by positioning himself as Anne’s protecter, bound to her in some way that could, conceivably have been love; at least of the courtly kind.
There is no evidence of infidelity on Richard’s part after his marriage to Anne Neville in 1472, and he signed a prenuptial agreement in regards to any claims on Anne’s lands at the request of his brother, who was married to her elder sister. While Anne’s lands eventually came to him, the marriage was not initially based on simply acquiring Anne’s full familial wealth. Instead, the marriage seemed to be based in a sense of protection, for the two grew up together at court, and both never truly were expected to be king or queen. Richard’s motto, “Loyalty Binds Me,” seems as much meant for Anne as for the country of England itself.

Medieval History + Typology: Richard III: INTJ + Libra
He is as unlike his brothers as is possible, small and shy and dark-haired, slight of build and quiet, while they are tall and bronze-headed and filled with their own importance…a handsome, slight boy, [Richard] may be the baby of the family, but he has never been the favourite. Of all the York boys, he is the only one to resemble his father, and he is dark and small-boned, a little changeling beside the big-boned, handsome York line. He is a pious young man, thoughtful; most at home in his great house in the North of England, where he lives a life of duty and austere service to his people.
It’s true, marrying you would make me a wealthy man. Just as you marrying me would make you a royal duchess, and equal to your sister. But I will be a true husband because I love you.
George is loyal to your husband, it seems. Today, we may have to forgive him and leave our vengeance to God. THE WHITE QUEEN — 1x05: War at First Hand.
Anyone who’s worked very hard on a craft or an art to get a certain precision in terms of execution and performance wants to get past all that stuff that holds you up - your ego, all the doubts.
RIP Bill Paxton (May 17,1955-February 25, 2017)
He was such an actor, he always stoled the scene when he was on screen. He was so memorable. I miss him so much, he remind me of my childhood, the sleepless night watching old movies on DVD. It was fun.
I just wanted to share with you this pics. It's one of the sweetest things I've ever seen <3
Why does Royce Clayton (The Torn Prince) from 2001’s ‘Thirteen Ghosts’ have a patch on his jacket that says “Johnny”? 🤨 Johnny is the name of the greaser who cut his brakes, thus causing his death.
Was there something we don’t know about going on between them? 👀
(“And they were rivals!” “Oh, my God, they were rivals…” 🤫 🤭)
“Was there something we dont know about going on between them?”
WHY IS THIS SO DAMN TRAGIC NOW?!
I didn’t need sad headcanons of The Torn Prince being an angry earth bound sprinting fueled by rage over a broken heart and betrayal. It’s like, no wonder he’s so incredibly angry, and while his death was very tragic its not as personal as the others deaths and yet he was the angriest of the ghosts who weren’t fueled by madness. You get what I’m saying.
@blurbwitch:
#if Johnny cut the brakes #and something was going on #did he think that a crash wouldn’t be that bad or something? #or did someone else cut the brakes like a friend of Johnny’s who DIDNT KNOW #and now Royce died assuming it was his secret boyfriend #and carries that misunderstanding with him #culminating in a rage that will never ebb #as he walks the earth as an angry earth bound spirit #filled with rage and betrayal and a broken heart
I was thinking that maybe they had a toxic relationship (in part because of the difficulty of the time), and it all built up to a horrible breaking point. But one of those scenarios could work as well. That would probably make it more tragic, that he believes it was Johnny but it wasn’t. 😭
Gosh, I would to make a a mini-series for the backstories of the ghosts, and this would be Royce’s story.
That would be dope! I mean, because if it were a misunderstanding then he would never know or worse if it was something toxic or something having to do with this Johnny doing it assuming that Royce would get hurt at most and then maybe, if it was so close to graduation, he would be in a hospital, it would be easier to withdraw and pretend that they never happened. Of course its the pressure of the times that they lived in and the small town mentality and the possibly catholic guilt and everything. And then the accident, and it’s worse than Johnny suspected it would be and instead of Royce getting hurt dies. And Johnny sees it happen knowing that it was his fault.
Yikes yikes yikes
Because if it was that then Johnny would have to carry that guilt for the rest of his life and Royce carries that betrayal for the rest of his death.
I would watch the hell out of that and probably cry.
I love how little thing like this (probably a design flaw, maybe in the original draft Royce was named Johnny) can create something beautiful like this moment of sharing ideas and emotions and out creativity. I love my little fandoms, I feel less alone 🥰
