Rob was tapping his foot. It was something he did when he was nervous, it always drove Ava and his mother crazy, but it was one thing that helped him get rid of his nervous energy. It had been a while since he had been this nervous about a date. He’d been on his fair share, even had a couple of serious relationships, but it had been a while since he had felt this energy tingling through his body, like he didn’t just want this date to go well, he needed it to. He had arrived at the dessert parlour 15 minutes early, assuming that Dr Re-Felicity would probably show up before seven too.
Luckily, she came in when he was checking his phone and not staring at the door. Putting his phone down he waved at Felicity to get her attention, standing up with a grin. “Hey, wow you look amazing.”
Felicity hated how she had been waiting around all day for the time of her date with Rob. It made her feel too eager, and she knew guys hated that. It wasn’t that she really cared what guys would think usually, but when she was actually interested in someone she wanted to make a good first impression. She’d have to make sure that the words ‘I waited all day for this!’ wouldn’t leave her mouth tonight. When the time came though, Felicity was thrilled. It had been a while since she got herself dressed up for something like a date. Usually she gave makeup a miss because she was so tired. Lets hope she remembered how most of this stuff worked.
Eagerness got the better of Felicity, however, as she found herself at their date destination about 10 minutes early. In order to kill time, she decided to walk around the block. Twice. The time on her phone read 6:59, she could surely go in now, right? She was freezing, and decided that if things with Rob got serious, he’d have to accept these things about her. She was always the early one.
When she saw him, she couldn’t stop the smile spreading on her lips. At his compliment, she felt herself blush. “You too. It’s nice to see you, again, too. You look great. I’ve already said that haven’t I?” God she was forever a bumbling mess. “Sorry, I’m just nervous. And excited, of course. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been looking forward to this all day.” Well, there goes that plan of keeping that to herself. “Ignore me, I’m rambling. Hi, how are you?”
