Life Story:
Eleanor was born to Grayson and Miranda Gilbert. As the first child, Elle could whisper to crows, and always seemed to be fascinated by death. She’d go out in the woods late at night.
When Elena was born (adopted), Elle’s parents didn’t seem to notice that Elle would be gone half the time.
Her favorite place to stalk would be the Salvatore Boarding House. As a little girl, she personally enjoyed running around the property.
But, there was an instance when Elle was thirteen. She went to the Salvatore boarding house, and no one was there, not even Zach. She met Damon briefly, as he was just passing through.
She didn’t meet Stefan until he went to Elena’s high school. At the start of the show, Elle had left for college. Once her parents died, Elle came back to help her Aunt Jenna and Elena. Elle went on a downward spiral. She picked up smoking cigarettes, as she could afford it. She’d get stoned with her brother, Jeremy, (in moderation). She would drink at the local dive bars, and play her guitar.
Elle was attracted to Stefan, before she knew that he was a vampire. She treated him poorly mainly because she wanted him first. Unfortunately, it caused a rivalry between Elle and Elena. Stefan (being Stefan) didn’t have a clue.
When Damon rolled into town, he immediately found Elle by herself, he recognized her face. Stefan actually protected her that night, and Elle resented him ever since.

Personality: Elle is a straight shooter. She’ll immediately tell you what she thinks about you or the situation (she doesn’t sugar coat anything). She tends to get drunk often, which makes her speech more wild and crazy. She’s definitely the type to wait until the bar is closing down to leave. She can be very kind, when she means to. Most of the time she puts up a front, trying to pretend she’s fine. She’s just as messed up about her parents’ death as Elena, so she distances herself from her family.
Good Habit(s): She volunteers at the local Mystic Falls animal shelter. She works at Mystic Falls’ high school as a Teacher’s Assistant.
