Head-canon that Arthur is an avid pet name user. It's so cute to me because I can hear him calling Ellie "Honey", "Sweetheart", "My sweet girl." Hell, maybe even a "Baby/Babygirl" every once in a while.
Me when the trope is sad little girl who gets a reluctant father figure but then they’re like inseparable but then father figure dies and now older teenage girls goes a fuckass revenge mission only to die in the same place that father figure dies 💔💔💔
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RED DEAD 2
— @elliebrownrdr2
Her whole body felt like it was lit on fire: legs trying not to crumble beneath her, her chest heaving with every half-breath she was taking— they didn’t even sound like real breaths anymore, some kind of choked and raspy cough escaping her every time she let out air. Her body was overexerted, exhausted, in desperate need of rest.
It had been a close escape, with Ellie having to crawl practically the entire way through the O’Driscoll camp not to be seen. But she’d done it, and now she didn’t even know where she was— some grassy plains; hills and mountains and pretty flowers in most places. Deers looked at her curiously before fleeing, chipmunks scampered around her.
Her eyes were drooping— she was tired. Her legs were now turning more numb than anything, and her head felt heavy and light at the same time.
The little girl whipped around at the sound of a horse neighing gently, though she didn’t even register it as a horse; she just knew it was some kind of animal— and she started hobbling towards it mindlessly, not even seeing the man atop of it…
(Hope this was okay!!)
The sun was getting low and the dim light was illuminating the treetops, allowing small slivers of light to illuminate the path filled with trees in the forest where Arthur was passing by.
The horse galloped slowly, neighing every now and then, overcoming the protruding roots of the tree trunks that inhabited that place, while the man in the saddle lit a cigarette. His black hat pulled low over his eyes, he hated the sun and one hand covered his cigarette, ruined by the wind from his horse's galloping pace.
He'd gone out for a walk. Not because he wanted to see the beauty of those lands, but simply because he couldn't stand Dutch's lectures on what he should do to improve the camp. He didn't need to tell him, he knew what he had to do, but he didn't feel like it now.
The idea of being alone with his horse wandering through those lands reassured him, as much as that was possible. Arthur knew there weren't any nice people in those parts, But deep down, there were none in that world.
His calm left him when his horse stirred slightly, causing the freshly lit cigarette to fall from his mouth. "Damn girl..." The irritated tone, softened by the sight of a frail figure coming towards them.
He looked like a child, but could he trust her? Children were treacherous, especially in times like these. Miss, his hand on his holster and in a hoarse voice loud enough to be heard, warned the child.
"Hey you. Stop there. What you want?"
(is perfect!)
Ellie startled at his voice, though her reaction was more delayed than it should’ve been.
Her eyes drifted up to him— dazed and glossed over, there but not fully— and she pointed a finger behind her, mumbling out words about “T-there was O’Driscoll’s…” She sounded far too scared and looked far too beat up for this to be fake. There were bruises and cuts all over her, some new, some older, some even looked infected. And she was dressed in garments that bordered on rags. “M-Mister, can, can you help me…? P-please, I don’t wanna get caught again—“
(Thanks! Yours was amazing as well!)
O'Driscoll...? Had that little girl been in contact with that gang of idiots? Arthur looked around, no longer as calm as he had been when he had started his ride.
"What the hell did you do to get caught by that bunch of idiots, huh?" His tone wasn't gentle, it was resolute. The sun was setting, and he was even more alert than before. Was it safe to help that little girl?
Arthur looked at her in silence for a few more moments; she was in a very bad state. He grunted in annoyance at the thought of those people being near those plains. He led his horse closer to the little girl's figure.
"I hope for your sake that you have no bad intentions. I have no qualms about leaving you here in the middle of the fields if you do something you shouldn't." And after this brief threat, he picked her up with one arm and placed her in front of him on the saddle, beginning to ride away from there.
He wouldn't take her to the camp; doctors in the nearby town would take care of her. But that little girl would be useful, somehow.
(🫰🏽)
Her eyes met him; watery and dazed, and it seemed like they were looking through him, not really at him. She wasn’t picking up on his less-than-gentle tone, only that he was talking to her in a volume that was under a yell.
“I dunno…” she slurred, swaying on her feet. “They’s bad, m-mister…they’s real bad…”
She stepped back at his horse moved towards her, losing her footing and falling on her backside, letting out a pained whimper. “N-no, mister, I’ll be good, promise, jus’ please help…”
As she was set on the saddle in front of Arthur, her head immediately leaned back against his chest, lulling to the side slightly.
“Where’s you takin’ me…?” She asked weakly.
Welcome to yet another RDR2 rp/ask blog!
This account will revolve around mid-honor Arthur! (wowzer another Arthur rp account... h o o r a y) Most, if not all, interactions can be done, just be aware that... this isn't really a suitable blog for anyone under the age of 18 (considering rdr is a pretty explicit game) so... shooshoo. Even if you do happen to be over that age, don't be a weirdo lol
Here are a list of people's rdr rp blogs I personally enjoy (and you should totally check out hehe) also don't worry, i'll be adding in more soon:
@deadeye-honour @arthurmorganrp @mistermxrgan @johnmarstonrp
Followed by some rdr2 ocs that I adore: @shad-rp Ofc there's more people to add but my connections to rp blogs are limited (again, rp is not something I typically partake in so forgive me) SO PLEASE GREET ME AND LET ME ADD YOUR RP BLOG TO THIS LIST GRRRR
Gifs and photos used to respond to asks will be typically sourced from Pinterest and/or Tumblr (with given credit ofc <3)
This is the mod's first time making an acc/blog like this so please be nice to them <3
Also- this blog is just for fun lol so don't take the responses too serious :)
Mod's main account is @kiwiiooopuff <3
⋆˚꩜。 Ellie Headcanon's ⋆˚꩜。
- Ellie genuinely likes coffee She has this very skewed perception that it tastes like 'a kinda burnt coco bar'
- When Arthur's hair is longer, Ellie loves to put little braids scattered throughout it It's an activity that, without a doubt, will have her smiling 'brighter than the damn sun,' which is really the only reason Arthur puts up with it (he'd do anything for his girl to be happy, let's be real) She doesn't get to do it all the time, but that only makes it more special when she does get the chance to
- Ellie is most definitely friends with a few of the working girls, specifically in Valentine She lived on the streets there for a while, and I really feel like some of those girls would've taken care of her in their own way; give her a free bath every once in a while, offer her one of those nice candies every so often, just the little things I have two OC's, Silvia and Charity, who are working girls in Valentine. After hours (so very early in the morning), there's instances where they'll go find Ellie and just talk to her for a while. They see Ellie as something akin to what they used to be before getting mixed up in the lives they're currently living, and they want to do what little they can to protect Ellie from the horrors that they know exist in the world, in Valentine itself. - Ellie has insane beef with Miss Grimshaw, and she'll talk shit with the girls at camp like there's no tomorrow She'll rarely be rude to Miss Grimshaw to her face, but there was once instance where she was just so cross that she screamed at her. She was already having a bad day, and Miss Grimshaw had once again antagonized her for her preference for wearing slacks instead of skirts, and she'd just lost it; screamed stuff about "Did you pay for it?!" "Are you gonna buy me new skirts?!" and, "Shut yer goshdarn mouth, you old bat!" Of course, she'd been reprimanded by Arthur, which was really just him saying that she was allowed to think that way about Miss Grimshaw, but she couldn't say it straight to her.
Ellie took the invitation, albeit hesitant, sitting down next to Ludo with her legs spread out ahead of her, her eyes diligently eyeing the girl’s handiwork.
“Yeah, I— I don’t know whose it is either…” she answered awkwardly, fiddling with a few blades of grass.
“Huh?” Her head turned to face Ludo, zoning out just before hearing her question. “Oh, yeah, it’s um, there ain’t much here to do. I wanna help more, like what you’re doin’, but…I’m s’posed to be restin’ or somethin’…” she mumbled, shrugging.
“So, uh, what happened there?” Ellie asked shyly, gesturing to Ludo’s eye. “Sorry, you don’t gotta answer if you don’t wanna.”
"Got in a fight." Ludo idly tugged at the strap of her eyepatch, but didn't take it off as her gaze darted between weeds and blades of grass - the memory was hazy. "Man who had a knife, and I had nothing. I'll get my revenge once I get out of here."
Here being this stupid camp. She shrugged, then, and lifted her head, unconcerned with elaborating.
"And you?" She looked Ellie up and down. "What is your, um… story?"
The story sounded kinda cool to Ellie, but Ludo’s tone sounded like she probably shouldn’t smile at it. So, she didn’t, instead choosing to just nod along and continue fidgeting.
“Wait— you, you’s gonna go find him? Some grown man and you’s thinks you’re gonna be able t’ get revenge? I-I don’t think that’s a good idea, but…” She shrugged. “You do you, I guess, ain’t my business…”
Ellie frowned, looking herself up and down. She still kinda looked like she had the whole entire medical wagon thrown at her…It was startin’ to get itchy as well, all those dang bandages.
“Oh, uh…” She shrugged. “I was with some guys called O’Driscolls, they’s wasn’t very nice, only had me ‘cause they thought I was some guys kid…” She paused. “I got out after a while, a-and then Mr. Morgan found me. Now I’m here.”
There were a few beats of silence before Ellie looked up at the older girl. “Why do you wanna leave here? Don’t you like havin’ the stew almost everyday a-and sleepin’ in a place where they got people makin’ sure no one bad sneaks in?”
- @elliebrownrdr2
“Hi, Mr. Husset! O-or is it Mrs.? Sorry…” The little girl mumbles, scratching the back of her neck nervously. “A-anyways, I wanted to come say hi! And that I really like your skirt! I-I don’t like wearing skirts, which Miss Grimshaw says is bad, b-but my Dad doesn’t care, so that’s nice,” she says, referring to Arthur. “Hey, aren’t you and my Daddy friends?” Ellie asks curiously, cocking her head to the side.
"Hello Ellie! It's nice to finally meet you. You were right the first time- when I'm with friends I like to be called Mr, but really I just prefer Henry. And thank you, I like my skirt too!"
Henry makes sure he and Ellie are talking face to face by getting on her level
"I'm really lucky I get to be myself and wear what I like while I'm here in camp with you all. it's not always so safe... Out there for people who are different. as long as you're safe here with your daddy I think you should wear whatever makes you happy!"
Henry looks around to see if he can spot Arthur. He gets a far away look on his face when he does.
"I hope me and your daddy are friends. I certainly like him a lot 🙂↕️"
@elliebrownrdr2
Henry’s friendly demeanor relaxes Ellie almost immediately. She’s used to the ‘gruffer’ ways of the other guys in camp, so— besides Arthur and Charles— Henry’s the first who’s been openly gentler. “Okay! I’ll just call you Mr. Henry then! You can just call me Ellie, but my whole name is Ellie Brown.”
She nodded, biting on her finger nail. “Yeah, some people can be real nasty, but I ain’t never understood why; ‘s not like they’re the ones being forced into skirts or pants or whatever…” She shrugged. “He’s real nice ‘bout it, though, he don’t care none ‘bout what I put on— He even bought me those cool pants!” She claimed, gesturing to the mostly normal slacks, except for a bit of nice detailing down the sides.
Ellie plopped down on the dirt. “So, how’d you and my daddy meet?” She asked curiously, looking up at him.
Henry folds his skirt underneath him and sits in the dirt next to Ellie. "Well..." He rubs his chin trying to think of how best to describe his and Arthur's meeting to Ellie. She was a child, but it seemed she had a good understanding of what it was like on the street.
"Well I used to go to different towns and... Let men think I was a woman so that they would approach me and I could steal from them- which I don't do that much anymore 'cause it's not safe!" Henry added quickly.
"I had just moved to this new town and would you know it? They already had posters'a me up all around. I was workin' on takin' them all down when I met Arth- uh your dad- and I was real embarrassed for him to see them cause they said some things that weren't so nice or true about me, but he didn't care one bit that I was a man in a dress. After that he and I... Had dinner!" Henry cleared his throat and omitted all the drinking and stealing the two had done that night.
@elliebrownrdr2 ( @arthurmorganrp mentioned sorta 😉)
Ellie perked up. “Hey, that’s real smart, Mr. Henry! I’s see it all the time; men are lots more likely to go up to girls, ‘cause they thinks we stupid, y’know? But then you fool ‘em and steal all their money— then boom, you get away like nothin’ ever happened.” She looked Henry up and down, giving him a curt nod. “I like you, Mr. Henry.”
“Wait— Daddy was in a town? And he actually stayed there with you? That’s so weird, Mr. Henry; my daddy hates civilization, he wants t’ go out west, I think. I dunno though, he seems to like it with you a lot.” Her eyes narrowed. “Also I ain’t dumb, I know you guys probably did more n’ dinner.”
"Dumb?! I'm sorry Ellie if I made you feel like I thought that about you!" Henry says genuinely apologetic. His face gets fired up "😤 you're very smart! Everyone in camp knows that." But then Henry deflates a little.
"it's just that... Sometimes we do things because we have to- steal, trick, even hurt people- but sometimes we do things wrong even if we don't have to. I just ain't proud of some of the things I done and I don't want you to think badly of me, Ellie. I don't actually like doin' wrong. If I could live straight I would. Others wouldn't and that's their choice... " Henry pauses then rolls his eyes dramatically "what am doin' being all melancholy? That's a good word to use. Means yer actin' like a big dark clouds all over you." Henry leans over conspiratorially and whispers "yer daddy really doesn't take other people out on the town?"
Ellie sits up straighter at the praise, seeming to puff out her chest proudly. “Thank you. I am very smart. Daddy says I am, and Grandpa Hosea, and he’s the smartest guy ever, least I think he is. Maybe it’s ’cause he’s so old…” She trailed off, giving a light shrug.
The little girl listened intently to Henry’s words. He was different than other folks she’d talk to; kinder and gentler, but he also seemed keen on doing the good thing, at least sometimes, and Ellie didn’t know too many of those people around here.
“I don’t think you’re bad, Mr. Henry, really. Everyone here’s done bad stuff; I-I’s used to steal a lot before I met Daddy, and I even killed someone one time—“ She seemed too comfortable bringing that up for someone so young. “—I used to feel alls gross n’ stuff, but Daddy said I was jus’ keepin’ myself safe, so I didn’t technically do nothin’ bad…” There was a brief pause before she looked up at Henry, now even more curious. “Have you killed someone before? Promise I won’t snitch! But if you have…” She smirked mischievously, leaning forwards like she was about to tell a secret. “And if you used a gun, well, you should show me how to shoot, ‘cause technically I ain’t ‘llowed to, but if I don’t say anything and you don’t say anything…?”
Ellie shook her head. “No, sir! I ain’t seen him go out on the town with no one but you! At least when you’re thinkin’ bout it like that,” she said, “He takes Aunt Tilly and Mary-Beth and Karen sometimes, but Daddy don’t like them in the way he likes you I think…But nope! Just you!”
- @elliebrownrdr2
“Hi, Mr. Husset! O-or is it Mrs.? Sorry…” The little girl mumbles, scratching the back of her neck nervously. “A-anyways, I wanted to come say hi! And that I really like your skirt! Guys if I posted my rdr2 fics here would y’all read them? I mean I have SO many that I either have written or want to write….
Also if the answer is yes, would you guys rather see me write a fic for when Ellie and Arthur met for the first time, or just some straight up angst with some gold ol’ hurt/comfort mixed in…?
@elliebrownrdr2
She’d been avoiding Arthur for days, after she’d asked that stupid question. He didn’t seem mad, he never was, not at her, but he obviously wasn’t too thrilled about being asked if she could call him her dad.
Well, she knew he could’ve said ‘no,’ but…it still kinda hurt, avoiding him for so long.
And, she’d also heard some stranger talking with him, and when Arthur said that she could if she needed to…
“Arthur…?” She mumbled, nervous, as she turned the corner to look for him in his tent area. Upon seeing him, she immediately started apologizing. “I’m so sorry, Mr. Morgan—“ she started, switching back to formalities. “I shouldn’t have asked such a dumb question, it ain’t right—“
"Don't be sorry kid, you did nothing wrong. I know you've been avoiding me...and....I've been avoiding you too. Truth is...it's...difficult for me to deal with fatherhood. I already had a son once, and he died in such an awful way. I don't think I'd be a good father. And now...I...I know I don't have long. I won't be there for you for the time I wish I could be. If you called me dad, I'm afraid I'd lose you like I lost Isaac. I know it's stupid...I know it's just in my head. But I know it's important to you. So yes, you can call me that. I'll do my best Ellie. Just...don't expect much from me. Letting you down...that would hurt so much."
@elliebrownrdr2
Ellie started tearing up a bit while Arthur was talking. She knew he was gonna die soon, knew he had TB or whatever it was called. But even if it was only for a little while, she’d still want to have him be her dad. She also knew about Issac, had known for a while now.
“A-Arthur, you give me so much already—“ She started, looking at him with wide, teary eyes. “And I know about Issac, I heard John talking, s-so I was scared that you was gonna get mad at me. I just, I ain’t ever get to have a dad before, and I know you’re gonna die—“ God, it hurt her to even think of that. “—But I still want you to be my daddy, even if it’s only for a little bit.”
When he said yes, Ellie fought back more tears, only walking over to Arthur and wrapping her arms around his middle in a tight hug. “Thank you, dad..” she said, her face pressed into his jacket,
