Elliot exhaled slowly, staring down the entrance of the reunion with a furrowed brow. He wondered if heâd be labeled a coward if he left now, though he also wondered if he truly gave a shit about what people called him. Heâd started off earlier that night, spending a couple of hours at the town bar, gathering the courage to be back here, to play the part again, to put the mask back on, but it was already taking a toll on him.Â
Finally, he pulled out a coin, holding it between his fingers, âheads I stay, tails I hightail it out of here.â he mumbled to himself, getting ready to flip it. It felt as if the world slowed as the coin spun in mid air in front of him, and as he reached out to catch it, he felt a figure nudge him, causing him to fumble and drop the coin onto the ground. His 6âČ 3âł frame stood slouched, staring at the coin as if it were mocking him. âHeads.â He said, glancing up at the person who had bumped him and caused it to drop. âLooks like your arrival impacted my fate. Quite literally.â He joked, leaning down to grab it before gesturing for them to go in first, âLead the way.â
