Hello! I saw that you were new on my dash and LSUTube follow list, so I figured I'd introduce myself. So, hey! I'm Bella. :)
Hahaha, I am the epitome of Newbie. Hi! I'm Elliott, and I totally feel like I've seen you somewhere before.
Hey, man, I see a new face and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Xavier. I take it you go to LSU?
You figured correctly! I’m Elliott. I’m a music education major. Nice to meet you, Xavier!
Nice to meet you as well, Elliot. That’s really cool. What made you want to go into Music education? I’m a double major in Film and Television Production and also Secondary Education. How long have you been at LSU?
I love kids, I love music, that's about the extent of it! Niiiiice, another education major! What do you want to teach? I've been here since the start of the year; I did a lot of school-hopping before I settled down here. How long have you been?
Okay, so...
Do you really? Do you have any other bands or artists you like as much as Mr. Bowie? Aw, really? How cute! That’s really awesome though. Oh, nice! Uh, would it be cliche to say Beyoncé? But really I’m into the producers, like… Pharrell Williams, Quincy Jones, Jay-Z, just to name a few, but I also have many vocalists that are very high on the list that I love. I feel like I listen to a wide range of people like Michael Jackson, to classic 90s pop, to the Beatles, and even indie stuff too. Really I don’t discriminate, because well, good music is simply what it is. Well, I really love music and I figured my parents wouldn’t truly like if I only majored in dance, so I picked it up. I mean, I’m a deejay too and I love mixing sounds and making music, it felt logical to me.
Okay, nice. Aw, why’s that? You not liking your skin that is. Those are pretty names. How’s that feel? Being the middle baby. I’m the baby of the family, so I wouldn’t know. Really? Cute! I threaten no matter who it is. I have two older sisters and brother and I threatened all of their significant others that came by. I didn’t care. Haha, plus I was a brat. Aw, good. I’m glad. It’s nice to have family that cares.
Oh, okay. Wow, that’s a lot of traveling. I’m glad you were able to settle on LSU then. Sounds like a lot of hassle. And you said not all of your courses transferred? That sucks. Nice. I wish I could do the same, but having one three year old does it for me, right now. So having around twenty at any given time might be too much.
Yeah? Ever been?
My iPhone honestly has, like, the most embarrassing music on it, I'm not going to lie. I'm such a stereotype when it comes to music, like I have Lady Gaga and Laura Branigan and The Weather Girls and Semi-Precious Weapons. Oh, and Sam Smith. I loooove Sam Smith right now. I like all that glitzy disco music; the stuff you hear at the club. My music section might as well just vomit rainbows and glitter... But I mean I also like a bunch of other stuff. Pretty much anything, really. No way! Bey is the queen; there is nothing wrong with Beyoncé. Oh, yeah, I totally agree. I'm the same way; ecclectic tastes are awesome. That is an awesome reason. Do you still dance? Or is that just a hobby for you now?
It's really weird being the middle child and the only boy? Like, really weird. But it's cool, so I'm not bothered too much by it. Aw! That actually sounds adorable. How many siblings do you have? Is your family pretty close with you, too?
Yeah, it's a ton of traveling. I didn't mind because I wanted to see all those places, but it was sort of exhausting. I became disenchanted with a few places along the way. Not everything transferred, no, so I spent the last semester in credit overload trying to take the things that didn't transfer, and then other classes for my major. It's been hella difficult, but I think I'm all caught up now! Yeah, dealing with 20 can be a handful, but i mean, you get to give them back to their home teachers after an hour and then you have a brand new group. So I guess it's kind of the appeal of being able to give back a baby when you're done holding it? A three year old? Cool! Three is a pretty magical age. Personal opinion.
I haven't, yet, but I really wanna go. Mardi Gras is coming up. I might go down that week.
That’s not going to help me. Though you weren’t around when I mentioned that to quite a few people, so you’re excused from my wrath.
Allllrighty then?
Hey, man, I see a new face and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Xavier. I take it you go to LSU?
You figured correctly! I'm Elliott. I'm a music education major. Nice to meet you, Xavier!
Okay, so...
How’s that lame? Psh. At least you have an idol or musical influence, some people don’t. What’s your favorite song from him? Like, legit makeup or some guyliner and other random things? You have sister? Cool, younger or older? How many? You close to your family?
Where else did you go to? Well, hey, welcome to LSU! Haha.. what was so appealing about LSU? I mean… fit wise. Me too! I hope you do well here. Yep. Really? That’s so cool! Why elementary music? Which, by the way, is awesome. I loved my elementary school music teacher, Mrs. Bailey. She was awesome… gah. I can’t even believed I remembered her name.
Well, my brother is an alum. I visited him a few times and Baton Rouge is a chill place, so I’m like, why not? Their music program is pretty awesome and New Orleans is up and coming place for music, believe it or not. So, it was kind of an easy choice. Never regretted it, especially because yesterday happened.
This is true. I don't know; I kiss the ground he walks on, pretty much. My mom took me to a concert when I was little and I was like "That's what I wanna do for the rest of my life." I think I was three or something. My all-time favorite song is Modern Love. What about you? Any hardcore influences you've got going on? What made you want to do music production?
I do legit makeup. I never leave the room without foundation. Sometimes I'll leave without eyeliner, but never without foundation. I don't like my skin, personally. I've got two sisters. Iris and Skye. I'm the middle child, so I had one threatening to beat up my boyfriends, and one I had to do the threatening for. I'm really close with them.
I don't know, I just kinda felt like this is where I belonged when i came to visit. I went to Oregon State for a quarter, then I went to NYU for the other quarter, came back to Washington for a semester, and then went to Penn State. I hated all of them. I'm really good with kids; that's really why I wanted to do elementary. I think I've got the energy to do it, too.
Oh, cool! All good reasons. Part of my decision was definitely influenced by NEw Orleans, too, so I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Okay, so...
Oh, okay! Cool. David Bowie fan? Ha! Nice, you do makeup too? How long have you been at LSU? Yeah, I am. I’m a music engineering/production major, so I’m in there working with all kinds of people there. It’s fun. So what exactly are you majoring in? What made you choose good ol’ LSU?
Love him, actually. He's kind of like...my musical idol. That sounds so lame. I don't leave my room without makeup. Literally no one has seen me without it. Minus my parents and sisters...but other than that.
I've only been here a year; I got here first semester and I've been playing catch-up to make up for the fact that I hopped schools for two years until I found my fit. LSU just felt right and I haven't wanted to bail yet, so I'm counting that a win! Ohhh, I got you. That's why I've probably seen you around. I'm a music education major; I really want to do elementary music.
What about you? What brought you here?
Okay, so...
Ha, yep. Thanks, love! Haha, just names that I’ve been called over the years. Hey, Elliott! Where’d you get the name Starchild? Also, I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere, but I can’t place it. I mean aside from campus… are you a music major?
Starchild came from a love of Ziggy Stardust. And because this one time, I did my makeup and made my eyes look like galaxies. Which was pretty awesome. I feel like I've seen you too, in the time I've been here. I am! I'm guessing you are as well, because I might as well live in that department.
Okay, so...
I did! Yesterday actually, which I’m still on that high. But, yeah! I did. Thank you! Sorry, I’m all bouncy and ahhhh. Haha, I’m Jocelyn. You can call me Lynnie if you want. Or Joce, I don’t mind. You are?
Ohhh, yeah, that is definitely understandable. Be on that high, girl! You earned it! Multiple nicknames! I approve. I think I like Joce better.
I'm Elliott. Some people have been known to call me Ellie. Or Starchild. But most people call me Elliott.
Okay, so...
I might not be great at social media except for Instagram, Twitter, and here, but changing my status to “married” is THE BEST THING EVER! Basically it’s all that I did today, other than run around this castle with my HUSBAND! Okay, maybe we’ve done more than just run around, but we definitely got our cardio in. Shut up and don’t judge. I’m married!!!!!!!
How’s everyone else doing?
You got married? Congratulations!

I think getting lost is going to be a big thing for me.
That is the opposite of good. If you need help, I've got a campus map leftover from when I got here?
