I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said “might as well see if it works.” I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if you’re a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.
dude.
$2,714 of medical debt from my top surgery - gone. im shaking this was such a weight on me for 2 years and it fucking worked. what the fuck.

Almost like this was done of purpose to keep certain groups of ppl from voting
When Black people say that racism is systemic this is what we mean. By being over policed we are in constant danger of being disenfranchised.
What’s that one post? “A government that removes a prisoner’s right to vote is now a government with an extremely vested interest in jailing its political opposition.”
I will finish a chapter a week this year. I will write my first book this year
Bong Joon-ho on the specificity and universality of Parasite (2019)
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pointed out that many young people are concerned about having kids because climate change will make the planet increasingly uninhabitable.
Fox News hosts are now claiming she wants to “get rid of children.”
Fuck fox news bro. Rich people playing dumb to influence poor people to be dumb
There’s hardly been such a blatant and clear example of how biased media outlets twist things… this should be in a damn text book on propaganda
Her: kids are scared about the future and wonder if they could have a family with how terrible the world is
Rich ppl: sounds like communist China :^/
I want to point out that “maybe these aren’t stable conditions to raise children in” sends rich people, nationalist/fascist people, religious fundamentalist people into the same kind of panic and demonstrates the most basic level they are allied on: baby farming.
Rich people farm babies because they need to ensure that their own children will live in the same type of deeply unequal society as they did and thus can inherit their wealth and be assured that there are enough workers to ensure that it maintains the same value. Even if they do not create ideal conditions for raising children, they demand you replace yourself with a new person to toil away for them, and to need their resources and have to buy shit to survive, anyway.
Nationalists/Fascists farm babies because they believe that controlling the family sphere is the best way to control information and to produce armies and police that enforce their legitimacy. If they are isolationists, they want to stop all migratory populations which means they are extremely vulnerable to the population aging faster than it can reproduce. In the racist context they also believe in both out-populating what they see as inferior races, but they also on the quiet don’t want their enemies to stop having kids either because that means they won’t be able to exploit future generations for free labor, or have an “other” accessible to scare their kids over.
Religious fundamentalists farm babies because they believe that population under a religion determines its strength and sphere of influence and they would rather have a noncompetitive time of it by breeding more followers rather than trying to appeal to converts, whom they distrust. You can see this in certain organized fertility movements like Quiverfull, etc. Many fundamentalists fear that as religion becomes more voluntary and personal, rather than an obligation under threat of violence, the power and influence of religion will shrink.
All three of these interests oppose accessible and free health care, family planning and reproductive rights. All of these interests have significant reasons for opposing the right to a safe, accessible, and nonjudgmental abortion, as well as the right to safe, accessible, and nonjudgmental prenatal care and post-natal child support, and in the USA, universal parental leave.
It may seem counter-intuitive that people who farm babies might want to make it hard to be a new parent but consider that setting a precedent for public assistance in one direction also sets it in the other. Instead, they prefer forms of influence like fox news up there that mostly do not have to take responsibility for the welfare of the people, but instead can just sway public opinion to vote against their own health and safety, or sway the public to uncritically accept actions pushed by far-right lobbyists.
Any interest that promotes hierarchy promotes it from the cradle to the grave.
I guess I haven’t posted this zine anywhere on tumblr yet but yeah heres the big shitty thing Minnesota has been fighting for sevenish years. This Black Snake problem ain’t gonna crush itself so if yinz can lend a hand to the water protector effort thad be gr8. donations, legal support, get word out, or rollup to the frontlines and throw down shoulder to shoulder with the Indigenous homies who’ve been fighting pipelines since there were pipelines - solidarity is everthing. here’s a handy linktree *the zine was made in 2019, recently Enbridge just got their last needed permit. They’re currently entering construction despite pandemic conditions and multiple active lawsuits.
I love my English lectures but one thing that genuinely upsets me is seeing how many works of Irish literature are claimed as or assumed to be “British literature”. Like Dracula, Oscar Wilde and Seamus Heaney weren’t British artists...they were Irish. Why does Britain get to take credit for Irish pieces???
Colonialism
i’m not kidding i would trade all “personalized” features and ads in a heartbeat if it meant we could have real privacy laws. all individual tracking and data gathering on users should be illegal
Am I the only one who's not a huge fan of the new art for critical role?
Idk like its really well done and detailed and rendered but I'm not a huge fan of some of the style choices.... like jesters sock/leggings look straight from a sears winter catalog or how beau looks kind of like a 3d model or some of their faces??? Also there are a lot of valid points about how a) veth keeps getting skinnier in all subsequent art and b) they lightened beau's skintone by a lot.
I think Cad and Fjord both look good but the others I just think is kind of less interesting and lacks the personality that was shown in the art from around level 10.
Idk i just still prefer the previous versions I guess
"Shouldn't the man who invented the iPhone own his own creation?"
An explanation by anti-capitalist brad pitt.
"Mazzucato lists twelve crucial technologies that make smartphones “smart”: (1) microprocessors;(2) memory chips; (3) solid state hard drives; (4) liquid crystal displays; (5) lithium-based batteries;(6) fast Fourier transform algorithms; (7) the internet; (8) HTTP and HTML protocols; (9) cellular networks; (10) Global Positioning Systems (GPS); (11) touchscreens; and (12) voice recognition. Every last one was supported by the public sector at key stages of development."
Leigh Phillips and Michal Rozworski, The People’s Republic of Walmart
“A critical history of technology would show how little any of the inventions [..] are the work of a single individual.”
–Karl Marx, Capital
Some ya’ll who are younger need to google Frank Serpico and read about his time in the NYPD and what the cops did to him and attempted to do to him up until the late 90′s. He literally had to go into hiding in Italy and Switzerland and multiple times people tried to kill him. He only came back to America after the mafia (who hated the NYPD a lot, obviously) said “you’re under our protection.”
Damn, NYPD is so bad, Mafia started protecting good cops
“Cancer/mental illness/disability affects rich and poor alike.”
Uh, no, it doesn’t. Rich people can afford the treatments and accommodations for those things. Poor people cannot. Get the fuck outta here with that classist shit.
Not to mention a higher proportion of disabled people are in poverty and people in manual jobs are more likely to become disabled, there is a class element to disability that cannot be ignored.
THANK YOU.
A quote from Chris Rock:
“I had my father get sick when I was 22. And I was poor, alright. And my father had an ulcer, and it exploded and you know all these toxins get in your blood. And basically, my father died, whatever, 50 days after his ulcer. So I had a father get sick while I was poor.
My mother got sick when I was rich. And my mother, you know… I don’t really want to get into it, but my mother was sicker than my father. And my mother’s alive. My mother’s fine, OK? I remember going to the hospital to see my mother and wondering, ‘Was I in the right place?’ Like, this was a hotel. Like it had a concierge, man.
People don’t… if the average person really knew the discrepancy in the health care system, there’d be riots in the streets, OK? They would burn this motherfucker down!”
what’s the mead sis........ the wenches are squabbling .......
