A/N: Hello! I know it’s been a while since the last time I posted something. I actually needed some time away from everything to take care of myself, especially my mental health. Being away from social medias did me really good and was able to care of myself and now I feel better. Sorry for disappearing without letting anyone know but I figured it wouldn’t interess anyone but I’m back ;)! I may also start to write about Lewis Tan because I’m obsessed with him but it will mostly be about Henry. This one shot is inspired by this song. You took a deep breath as you held your father’s arm with your two hands. Everything felt like a dream yet it was your life and you were more than grateful for it. You were minutes away from marrying the love of your life, your soulmate. Never once in your life had you imagined meeting Henry, yet marrying him. The moment it had all started was still crystal clear.
The Mission Impossible: Fallout premiere. You were hired as the official photographer for the night. Excited would have been an understatement about how you felt. You loved your job more than anything, and being able to take the official pictures of movie casts was something you grew fond of. It was not the first time you would do it so you knew what to do and what the production was expecting of you.You were placed in the middle of the red carpet behind the security fences, in the best spot and where the lightning was the best. The cast passed in front of your camera one by one, then in groups. They all looked incredibly good. You had sparkles in your eyes, and those sparkles started to shine brighter when Henry appeared in front of you. You always thought he was a very handsome man, and seeing him for the first time, a few inches away from you made you feel some type of way but you stayed professional and did your job. Even if you wanted him to notice you in some type of alternative universe, he wouldn’t set his eyes on you, you were just a photographer between a bunch of photographers.
Once the red carpet and premiere were over, you were invited to come to the after party. You were invited to have some fun with the cast and take some nice photographs if you felt like it. You were already there before the cast, so you were talking with one of the producers when the cast arrived and everyone cheered for them. When you noticed Henry, you felt like he was lighting up the room. He still has the facial hair and hair cut of his character, August Walker, which you found yourself liking more than expected. His suit looked incredible on him. While the director was giving a speech thanking everyone, you couldn’t help but watch Henry. You also looked at the others but your eyes would always find their way back to him. When everyone applauded at the end of the director’s speech, Henry’s eyes met yours, and you felt a rush of blood going throughout your whole face and immediately turned away. During the night, you were talking with everyone, even with Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson, they were all nice with you and you were having a good night. Yet, you didn’t bother trying to talk to Henry. He was having a great time and even if you wanted to talk to him, trying to get to know him, that man was impressive and he wouldn’t bother talking to you, you felt not interesting enough for it. It was okay though. You were talking with Simon Pegg, mostly laughing actually. This man was really funny and you enjoyed being in his company. You even showed him some photos you had taken on the red carpet and he complimented you on your work. Simon kindly suggested to bring you a drink so you waited for his return when you felt a presence close to you. “
“Are you all by yourself?” You turned around at the low and deep voice that came from behind. You couldn’t believe your eyes. Henry Cavill was there, in front of you. He looked even better up close. His scent was masculine and reassuring. You felt your emotions getting the best of you but by some unexplained miracle, you were able to control them back. “Oh no! Actually Simon just left to get us a drink.” You replied while holding your camera that was hanging around your neck. “A drink? He’s not wasting any time.” He joked, making you laugh. Speaking of him, Simon was back with your drink.
“Hey Henry, sorry Y/N I forgot that I needed to say something to Tom, I’m sorry.” “Oh you’re totally fine. Thank you for the drink.” He gave you a smile and left, leaving you with Henry.
“So your name is Y/N. That’s such a pretty name.” You blushed, instantly looking down at your feet.
“Thank you.” You replied, feeling like a child.
“So that’s you, our photographer? Do you mind if I take a look?”
“Not at all! Just keep in mind that I have some editing to do but this is what I have done so far.” You got closer, for him to be able to see the little screen of the camera and showed him the pictures.
“Those are incredible. You have a real talent for it.”
“Thank you so much, it means a lot!” You were always happy when people were satisfied with your unedited pictures.
“Can I confess something to you?” Henry asked, a little nervous judging by his body language.
“Sure thing.” You replied, now back in front of him.
“I have noticed you on the red carpet, but even better when the after party started. I saw the way you were behaving with people, laughing. You seem like a very interesting and genuine person let alone that you’re also beautiful, I don’t know how to properly ask you this but I would love to get to know you.” By the end of his sentence, he was rubbing the back of his neck. You were more than shocked with what just came out of his mouth. For a second you thought Simon put something in your drink. You were trying to realize what was happening but your silence was scaring him.
“It’s okay if you don-” “Of course! I mean I would also love to get to know you.” You gave him a warm smile and his eyes lighted up at your response.
“Are you ready, honey?” Your dad asked you as you took a deep breath before looking at him into his eyes.
“Yes, I am.” The two of you started to walk down the aisle, with your family and friends looking at you, happiness in their eyes. You were holding the bouquet of white roses as you looked around you, giving smiles to everyone. As you got closer to Henry, you could see that he was crying. His eyes were red but it was all happiness. He actually started to cry when he saw you in your white dress. You were so beautiful and he felt so lucky to be able to marry you. At the end of the aisle, your dad gave you a kiss of your cheek, before positioning yourself in front of Henry. You were also crying, tears threatening to fall but you did your best to hold them back. The ceremony started and everything was going perfectly. Henry was holding both your hands, caressing them smoothly. When the moment of the exchanges of vows came, you knew you would cry, but you were expecting Henry’s vows to be that beautiful.
“Y/N. My dear love, the love of my life. When I saw you that night, I immediately felt that you were someone special, and I knew not talking to you would have been the biggest mistake of my life and I more than grateful that you accepted to go on a date with me. I never knew someone on our planet could be that caring, kind, loving, generous, funny and gorgeous inside out. I don’t know what I did to deserve you but I’m more than happy to become your husband and I make you the promise to always take care of you, treat you like the woman you deserve to be treated and love you even in complicated moments. I love you more than I can tell you but I promise to show it to you everyday until we turn to dust. I love you Y/N Y/L/N and I can’t wait for us to create our own family.” Happy tears were falling on your cheeks but Henry nicely wiped them away, giving you a beautiful smile. It was now your turn, so you gave Henry one last glance at him before starting.
“Henry, the first time I saw you, you made me feel things I rarely felt for someone but I never thought you would set your eyes on me yet here we are. I’m more than happy to be in your life, loving you and taking care of you. You immediately charmed me with your humor, beauty and kindness. It felt like a dream, you’re such a dream but for once, this dream is real and I’m happy to be part of it. I love you Henry Cavill, and I promise to love and cherish you until my last breath. I can’t wait to grow old with you, make a family and be happy. You’re the love of my life and I will show it to you until our death.” Henry was also tearing up by the end of your speech. Once the rings were exchanged, it was time for the two of you to kiss one another and become wife and husband. Henry put both his hands on your face and kissed you passionately. You enjoyed the kiss, the moment, forgetting everyone around you. You were now his wife and he was now your husband. When he pulled away, he looked at you, his eyes glossy and his hands still on your face, rubbing your cheeks.
“I love you so much Y/N. I promise to take care of you for the rest of my life.” You smiled and kissed him one more time, while people were cheering for the both of you.
