Babeeeee!
A gorgeous baby chick, young enough to still have blue eyes, is captured in this photo while waiting in a dirty transport crate for her brutal, untimely death. She will be roughly grabbed from the crate, a process which sometimes results in the breaking of limbs that were already under incredible stress due to unnatural body weight, and shackled upside-down by her legs on the assembly-line, regardless of whether they are injured or not. She will then have her head pass through a bin of electrified water, which is intended to paralyze, but not stun. Then she will come by the “sticker” who will attempt to slit her throat, despite her being fully conscious. Now, even though it must be noted that there are issues in all slaughterhouses regarding stunning practices, often as a result of the increasing pressure for speed on the kill-line, according to current ‘welfare’ laws, the industry is not even required to try to stun birds before a knife is used to slit open their throats. If she is lucky, the “sticker” will have good aim, and after gasping and struggling, she will bleed out. However, with the expectations for faster kill-lines, as just mentioned, there are often mistakes made while the birds’ throats are being cut. If she was not fully affected by the electrified water, as is common since the terrified birds may quickly move their heads away from the bin, and thus fights and flaps her wings too much, the “sticker” may miss her throat either partially, or entirely, meaning that she will then still be conscious and entirely aware while she is submerged into the “de-feathering” tank, as happens to millions of birds each year. If this is the case, only will she finally be freed from the torture of her exploited life and incredibly cruel death, when she slowly drowns and/or is burned to death in the boiling water.

No person, not matter what their species, should ever have to experience such terror, pain, and suffering; and yet, it happens to billions of birds each year; each one having been as lovely and unique as the individual depicted in this image. Please choose veganism today in her honour.

I am having a really bad brain day. I just feel like I am a huge burden on everyone I know. I still don't feel settled in Birmingham and I just don't feel like I fit into everything here. I need someone who can come round and give me a cuddle when I feel like this. I fucking hate spending the whole day by myself and I just feel really out of control of everything and like I really annoy everyone. I'm too anxious to hang out in big groups and social stuff makes me feel really exhausted but being alone is horrible too. I just need some people who I feel comfortable sharing this stuff with and who will give me a cuddle when stuff is hard.
Got a lot of feelings about this girl.

Nine years ago, Japanese photographer Miyoko Ihara began snapping pictures of the relationship between her grandmother and her odd-eyed white cat. Miyoko’s grandma Misao found the abandoned cat in a shed on her land and the pair have barely been apart since. Misao named the white cat “Fukumaru” in hope the “God of fuku (good fortune) comes and everything will be smoothed over like maru (circle)”. Fukumaru is always in Misao’s shadow whether she is farming her land, having a bath, eating or sleeping. Now nearly a decade later their friendship and adventures have been documented by Miyoko in a photo book called Misao the Big Mama and Fukumaru the Cat.

Meet the newest member of our household! This is Andi, we adopted her on Sunday from Wythall Animal Sanctuary. She was found stray but they think she's around two. She's settling in at ours really well, eating lots and getting lots of attention. Getting to hang out with her is bloody class!
Anxiety is not rude. Depression is not selfish. Schizophrenia is not wrong. Eating disorders are not a choice. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is not crazy. Mental illness isn’t self-centred, anymore than cancer is self-centred. It’s a medical illness.

Stef took the best photo of us in Wales yesterday. We are such babes and our campsite was so beautiful. Waaah I love my pals loads etc.
Look how cute we are!!!
It is okay to need validation and vocal reassurance from other people. You should not be expected to face mental illness alone and you should not feel bad for needing support from others. You are loved and you are great <3
