Who haven't you fucked in the house of finwe yet?

I dont know. They have a LOT of kids. There’s always more of them! Elrond and Elros BOTH had kids. I fucked a good portion of the numenoreans but since they’re human they don’t count towards my goal. I rule out all of Elros’s line. Arwen, too, since she’s also too human now. I’m really really really interested in Elrond, though. You seen his eyebrows??? I want to touch his eyebrows. Have you ever seen him glare at someone dissaprovingly? I’m into that. Did you know he was raised by Maitimo?? He’s the closest thing I can get to someone being Maedhros’s son and therefore the closest new thing I can get to Maedhros. Aside from his mother. But she’s ugly anyways and I have NO interest in her. She’s not related to Finwe anyways. Has Finrod had any kids? I know he’s married to that lady now. He was cute. He could sing. I didn’t expect a random elf to be so good, but turns out he wasn’t a random elf he was a Noldor Prince. I’ve never met a Noldor Prince who WASN’T a ho. Except Maeglin. I’ve heard of these things called incels. That’s Maeglin. I don’t think he was a virgin, but he sure was holdin out for Celebrian. Ha. Poor thing never had a CHANCE. Even if he wasnt Celebrian’s cousin. She was a jock-nerd. He was emo-goth-nerd (are we SURE he wasn’t Caranthir’s kid?). It wouldn’t have worked out anyways! Speaking of Caranthir, has anyone seen Celegorm around? I know he likes dogs. I’d offer him a puppy if he came to visit. I don’t HAVE a puppy of course but I USUALLY do, so he won’t suspect anything. I want to talk with him for a while about dogs to be honest. What did he use to groom them?? A wire brush? I tried using a wire brush on my wolves and it didn’t keep their coat as oily as a bone-and-elf-hair brush. Do you think he had those? I’ve never met Finarfin but I know he likes birds and Eonwe likes birds so do you think a three way would work? I think so. Someone send him the offer. See if he’s interested. The next person I want to check off my list though is Galadriel. Yeah. She’s one of my top favorites in the house of finwe. She’s the only one who’s almost my equal. I respect her. I want her to top me but I think everyone does. I like her hair as well. I collect elf hair. Do you think she’d offer me some of her hair? She probably would. I’m a nice enough person.

I know I know I know elves canonically don’t need sleep–but when you’re raising two rambunctious, energetic toddlers I’m guessing some exceptions must be made ;)

The marriage of Elrond and Celebrían is so fascinating and so overlooked that it makes me sad. I mean, think about it.

Elrond is a walking bundle of abandonment stories. Eärendil seems to have spent much of Elrond’s early life at sea, eventually leaving him for good to sail to the Valinor. Elwing jumps off a cliff clutching a Silmarls to her breast and never returns. Even if Maglor and Maehdros stayed with him until right before they stole the Silmarlis, he would’ve been roughly 55 years old. Remember that 50 is the age of majority for elves - the modern equivalent of 18. Elros chooses the Gift of Men and dies when he and Elrond are roughly 500 years old. Elrond never knew the people of his biological father, wasn’t raised alongside the people of his biological mother, and wasn’t truly a Fëanorian. Whatever identity assumed, it was one he would have to create.

And then there’s Celebrían, daughter of Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. Assuming she was born near Nenuial between SA 350 and SA 400, she spent over 3,000 years living with her parents. Off hand, I cannot think of an elf who is known to have spent more time in their parent’s household. And she’s the inheritor of two rich cultures. A daughter of the Sindar and the Noldor, being taught of Doriath and Alqualondë and Tirion. She has a culture and an identity. Celebrían has always had a place to belong and family to call hers. But it’s a small family. Her uncles, aunts, and cousins all died before she was even born. Her grandparents are either dead or across the sea. She’s never seen the cities her parents came from and probably thinks she never will. The only kin outside of her parents were distantly related, Gil-Galad and Celebrimbor, and who knows how often she saw the former? With the latter, he let Sauron into her home and then was turned into a banner. Her whole life, almost all she’s had is her parents teaching her about cultures she belongs to but can’t see.

I want to see this marriage. By the time they meet, they’re both well over the traditional elven age of marriage. They aren’t young children, they are leaders, both following the noblest of the elves (Elrond following Gil-Galad and Celebrían following her parents). I want to see how such different backgrounds work out. If Elrond ever felt jealous of Celebrían’s parents? If Celebrían ever wished she could escape her parents’ legacies as Elrond had? Because I am convinced they loved the hell out of each other, but this is a psychological goldmine and I want it to be explored.

Tumblr Boycott to Protest Continued Lack of Movement to Ban White Nationalists

Tumblr @staff have been silent about the use of this site by white nationalist bloggers, while numerous other sites (see this post) have made actions to ban nazis/white nationalists/”alt-right”/fascists. Tumblr needs to know their lack of action is unacceptable. I love my tumblr community and want to stay, but if this continues, I will have to considering leaving.

I suggest we push back, and unite to boycott on a certain date. I’m arbitrarily suggesting September 1st - it’s nine days from this post, and that gives it enough time to hopefully get spread as far as possible. Boycotts only work if lots of people do it. Please consider joining me and logging off tumblr on September 1st, to let them know we’re serious about their apathy towards white nationalism.

Let’s also let @staff know that as they’re trying to increase advertiser spend, they should be well-aware of most ad tech companies (on the buy and sell side) have explicit rules against hate speech. You can tell Tumblr is aware of this because they’ve doubled-down on trying to locate the NSFW posts (quite badly based on how their technology fails so often) for what I imagine is brand safety for advertisers.

Given groups like Sleeping Giants has been successful in amplifying the voices of users protesting brands appearing on Breitbart, any other platform could be next in having their advertisers signaled with a screenshot of said posts where hate speech is proudly displayed against an ad served… well, you get the drift.

Okay tumblr deleted my entire addition here, so trying this again I get the sentiment here but it’s still not enough. Simply not posting for a day isn’t going to do anything- people will come back 24 hours later, catch up on their slower-than-usual dashboard, and things will be back to business as usual the next day. So, I’m going to make some suggestions for anyone able to do them:

1) Before the 1st, whenever you see an ad on tumblr, contact the advertiser and let them know you found their ad on a site that’s been allowing white supremacists a safe haven.

2) Contact Yahoo (which owns tumblr http://m.wikihow.com/Contact-Yahoo) and Oath Inc. (which owns Yahoo https://www.oath.com/our-story/press/). 3) On the 1st, instead of posting nothing, queue up at least 24 hours (& preferably more like 48) of posts demanding staff removing nazi blogs and @ing advertisers. tumblr doesn’t just rely on its users creating content, they need *marketable* content. I propose we fill the place up with enough UNmarketable posts about how staff allows users to advocate white supremacy and genocide that it makes posts by users ignoring the boycott less marketable by association. Likewise, if (or when) force of habit ends up bringing you to tumblr on the 1st despite your best efforts, instead of feeling guilty about giving them the clicks, @ staff asking if they’ve commited to removing nazis yet. 4) When you come back, don’t give notes to anything posted on the 1st that isn’t calling out staff for not acting to remove white supremacists/nazis. If someone really wants notes on something they can repost it on the 2nd. I get that some folks are only going to be able to participate in the “not posting or visiting” part of this on the 1st, and I’m not going to judge, but if that’s all any of us do it’ll be too easy to keep ignoring us. A one-day dip in users is nothing, but pairing it with a day where >90% of the content published is explicitly complaining about tumblr’s inaction regarding white supremacists just might accomplish something.
