“Political Discussion”

In this series, I erase the faces of politics and preserve only the shadows of ideas and emotional traces they leave behind. By deliberately blurring television debate frames, I remove individuality and shift the viewer away from the question “who is speaking?”. Instead, the focus turns to “what is being said?” and “how does it affect us?”.

The project does not depict politics itself, but visualizes the traumas and memories it silently imprints on our collective consciousness.

Eltaj Zeynalov (b. 1986, Azerbaijan) is a photographer whose work delves into the raw depths of human emotion. Rooted in his home city of Baku, his practice explores themes of memory, eros, mortality, and pain—where the human body becomes a vessel for the unspoken. Through stark black-and-white contrasts, he creates psychologically charged images that strip away distraction to reveal essential truths. Beyond his artistic practice, Eltaj is an advocate for social justice, working closely with individuals facing physical and mental disabilities. His work is included in private, public, and corporate collections worldwide.

The photo series explores the theme of memory and evidence by addressing the stories of people who have gone missing and whose fates remain unknown. Each image serves as a metaphor for a lost identity and a mystery that remains unsolved. This series examines the aftermath of significant events and their impact on memory, demonstrating how the lack of answers shapes our perception of reality.

My Left Foot The artist's left foot takes center stage as the “protagonist” of a deeply personal narrative depicted in an abstract style. In the face of sleepless nights and accompanied by pain, the artist makes a conscious decision to transform this adversity into an opportunity. Employing photography as a therapeutic medium, they reject a conventional, detached approach to shooting and instead document the evolving processes occurring within their feet with an aesthetic perspective. Consequently, the ongoing pain lends existential depth to the internal dialogue captured within these images, adding profound layers of contemplation to the artwork .
