My husband and I recently went to see the Backrooms movie (we are huge fans of Kane's work). A few days later we went on vacation in Gulf Shores and visited a local gift shop. While shopping, we turned around to see this and almost panicked 😅

Hi! Years ago I remember reading a short post-That Hideous Strength story involving a government cover-up of Edgestow’s destruction and a young couple discovering the ruins decades later. I think you may have written it. Does this sound familiar?
Hi! That does sound like part of the introductory interlude in my fic The Wayfarer Chronicles. Two FBI agents investigate the ruins of Edgestow and find an old abandoned lab belonging to the N.I.C.E.
The fic is a sequel to another series I did called Vessel of Fire, but you might be able to read The Wayfarer Chronicles as a stand alone if you are interested. The involvement of the events of That Hideous Strength is a minor plot point in comparison to the larger story, just FYI, but if you are a Tolkien/C.S. Lewis fan you would probably enjoy it :)

Not sure if Rocky made his own chair out of xenonite modeled after Grace's chair or if he built his enclosure around an existing Hail Mary chair, but the fact that he has his own chair in the cockpit next to Grace is adorable. <3 <3 <3
I’ve been rereading your Vessel of Fire series and am now at chapter 49 of the Wayfarer Chronicles, which has been an absolute blast to read! I was so excited when Claire entered the narrative. I am confused about one thing though. At the beginning of Book 1, Anna was supposed to be Claire’s best friend. But in the Wayfarer Chronicles, they act like complete strangers. Was this a retcon, or is there something I’m missing? Curious to know why!
The Anna in Vessel of Fire and the Anna in the Wayfarer Chronicles are two different people. They both just have the same name of "Anna". I realized I used the same name twice after the fact :P Sorry for the confusion. Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm so glad you are enjoying it! :D

Why I celebrate Easter
I remember the first time I truly understood the reality of death. My father had cancer and had been given a few months to live. I was sitting in my office chair at work. The reality that my father was going to die finally settled in my heart . There would be no bringing him back like a character in a show or a movie. That would be it. Death is final. Death is the end. Period. The weight of this sat heavy in my heart, moving me to tears. The horror of death is something we have become so desensitized to, but at that moment, I truly understood how terrible it is. Is there any greater hurdle to existence? Is there any worse outcome from a logical standpoint? No. Death is the great enemy. An enemy we cannot defeat.
There was once a man who walked the earth who claimed to be God. Lots of people didn’t believe him and they killed him. But then that man did something that no human could do. He came back to life. Death had no hold on him. Is there any greater victory? If God was to prove to us His power, could there be any more impactful way than to vanquish the undefeatable enemy?
No one else promises the defeat of death like Jesus does. Some argue that you cannot truly know if Jesus was real, or if what He said was true. No matter how you slice it, belief is a choice we make. And I understand the fear of believing the wrong thing. The question we must ask is “What happens if I’m wrong?” If I reject Christianity and I’m right, I get a few years on this earth and then nothingness. If I’m wrong, I get an eternity of separation from all that is good. But if I choose and accept that Jesus is who He says He is, that He was the Creator in human flesh, and I’m right, then my life has meaning and that meaning echoes in eternity. And if I’m wrong, then nothingness.
There is a story that echoes through all great tales; the story of redemption. Characters putting their lives on the line for others; the self-sacrifice of a friend. It thrills the heart like nothing else. All the great tales have it. That echo is universal across all cultures and time periods. I truly believe that this echo is God drawing us to him. Drawing us to the true tale of His redemption of mankind. In light of this, nothingness cannot be our end. Jesus died to save us and He accepts all who long for something more. There is meaning. Nothingness is not our fate. There is hope. And that is why I celebrate Easter.

The Vessel of Fire web comic is at an end and I couldn't be more satisfied and happy with the result. I hope you all have enjoyed reading it as much as I did making it. It was a daunting task that pushed my artistic abilities to their limits at times. Though I will not be doing books 2-3 in web comic form, you can still read book 2, book 3, and The Wayfarer Chronicles (sequel to Vessel of Fire) as well as my other work on my fanfiction.net profile.

Can't believe I get to see this amazing book made into a film today. I don't think I've been this excited for a film adaptation since the Hobbit movies. Hoping this one is better than those :P
