Wonderfully Cushy Christmas

I was about to write a post detailing the happenings of this wonderful holiday but I remembered that I am really bad at that. 

So I’m just going to say Christmas 2015 was lovely for me. 

I woke up on the morning of Christmas eve with an unmistakable itch in the base of my throat and a premature crimson surprise so you would think my joy would be significantly reduced but you would be wrong. 

It’s really not about itchy throats or cramps or the unbearably humid weather or the pretty cafes that choose to close on holidays or the subpar cheesecakes and fried chicken or the whole walrus phenomenon. 

All it comes down to is the people you have around you. 

And I had the best people spending this holiday with me. I had a prince! And I got to give him a gift and receive an unconventional, but terrific gift in return.

Really, what more could I ask for? :)

Well hello there!

It’s been a while. 

That’s because I’m no longer in the lap of lavishly unproductive and lazy luxury. 

It’s been 2 weeks of work and I am absolutely drained but rather happy! 

And there’s no reason not to be because the job’s a mixture of the 2 things I’ve hoped to be involved in, and for that I am truly grateful. 

If you were to peer from the window into my usual work day you would probably see me chasing children into their rooms for naptime, chasing children into the bathroom for shower time, getting children to settle down for study time and more, often looking slightly crazed. 

At work we hope to make it a haven for the children where they can feel safe and protected, and to teach them good things. But it is actually the children who teach us a lot. 

I feel incredibly moved and privileged every time a child chooses to open up to me. Maybe I can’t be a chosen kid in the Digimon universe but in that moment with the child I am the chosen adult! :)

In these 2 weeks I’ve been through quite a few farewells, and as much as I am really happy for them, sometimes when they hug me goodbye my nose gets all sour. 

Ahhh. 

This is a strange post because I feel physically lousy today, and not really in the right condition to write a happy post but stubbornly decides to anyway. 

Please let me wake up to be less of a dumpling. 

So tired! Time for my rest.
