The fact that bear interwove Atreus’ theme into Angrboda’s to symbolize their fates intertwining with each other… the first ost session that Eric (Game director) and Cory (creative director) had with Bear centered around Angrboda and Atreus’ relationship… the english translation for her song saying “Mother, Mother of Wolves, you will endure. You will endure.”

a part of god of war ragnarok that i'm so obsessed with is that the only time kratos EVER calls atreus "boy" in the game is when he is indescribably angry with him. ragnarok could've pitched into the memes that were made about his seemingly excessive use of the word towards his son in the 2018 game, but instead, they stuck to their guns and made sure we understood that it was never a joke, or a term of endearment, or a meme. but a word that kratos used instead of his son's own name in an attempt to distance himself and disrespect his son in order to remain uninvolved

kratos used "boy" to make sure his son didn't try to connect with him. "boy" was used to degrade atreus and reject his individuality. it was an attempt to distance himself, and keep atreus far, far away

and the writing ACKNOWLEDGED this. when atreus runs away, kratos shouts "BOY" and the scene lets it HANG. the scene HOLDS on it, like it's a revelation, because it is; in a way, we've just been reassured that 1. atreus has committed/is about to commit an action beyond betrayal and 2. "boy" is a term that is now only exclusively used when atreus is ABSOLUTELY FUCKED.
