henleyblake:
“He’s dead but he’s here… Am I seeing shit? I’m definitely seeing shit. I am literally going insane.”
"Um... Henley? Are you okay?” Stupid question, perhaps, but she didn’t know what else to say.
coltondeforest:
“It’s too early for this.”
"I... sorry. I startled you, didn’t I? That, uh, that happens sometimes. I’m fine, though, really. I might have a mild concussion, but otherwise, I’m all good.”
gideonhenry:
“If you could pick one moment in your past that you would want to do over again, what would it be?”
".... Do you always go around asking strangers such personal questions?”
minds-eye-of-a-storm:
Lachlan chuckled and shook his head. “Don’t be,” he said honestly. “He’s a great guy with a lot of passion.” Bryden was passionate, even if that passion lent itself more towards bar room brawls and resulted in broken noses. “Throwing yourself into things is a good thing. It gives you a distraction, but if you’re going to stick with it, you will want to learn to take it easy and only push so much.” He shrugged. “Did you want to try again or are you done for the day?”
"Well, then, he doesn’t sound half bad.” If there was anything Elysia understood, it was passion. Passion was what drove most of her decisions. As bad as it could be sometimes to think more with her heart than her head, she found that it wasn’t something she had much control over. “You can only distract yourself so long before you have to face whatever it is you’re trying to avoid.” It was something she had been avoiding for almost twelve years and she was beginning to realize that she would never be able to forgive herself if she didn’t unburden herself of the secret she’d been keeping. “I will keep that in mind for future reference--- thank you. Really. I could have seriously hurt myself if you hadn’t stepped in like you had.” She offered up a smile. One that was more “normal” for Ely. “Part of me wants to try again, but I think I need a break because I can feel my heartbeat in my knuckles, I think.” It was a joke, but her knuckles did feel like they were pounding.
isabellecresswell:
“Woah easy there killer.” Isabelle staring at her friend with wide eyes. “If it helps you look terrifying as all hell so mission accomplished.”
Elysia immediately froze. “I’m not a...” She started to say that she wasn’t a killer, but then she realized that Issy hadn’t mean it literally and cut herself off. “Okay, you’re exaggerating, but I’ll take it anyway. Isn’t everyday I get called scary.”
nathanielgreysons:
“I know” he was his turn to get it, and show her that he did. He had said one thing, and then had done the other. But it was his duty, and what he had been born to do. He couldn’t pass it up, or be distracted by it. But he knew she understood that also, which gave him hope. “You don’t have to explain to me” he finally says, his tone quiet, “I basically made you walk out that door, when I was the one that left. But I don’t want you to think that when you did, that you would be alone. I’ll always be here” but not in the way, the either of them truly wanted. But in the way, that it needed to be. That was to much going on, and before he could even figure anything out. He needed to be alpha first, before anything else. He gave her a small smile, hearing her say it again. She was strong, and a witch no less. He’d need her, in more ways than none. And she had vowed to be on his side, and if it came down to it, she would be there. He moved towards the punch bag, placing his hands on either side, “Promise, no laughing.” It was nice to hear the teasing. It made things comfortable. Like she always seemed to do when they where together, “Just keep your feet plant, and only move from your waist. Keep the strength in your arms, and hold it tight. But move from your waist” he says now, staring at her. He’d be more than willing to show her how to fight. It if gave her something to focus on, then he’d do it. And it would also help protect her. “Come on, stand straight and give it your best hit, don’t worry about hurting me” he says now, smirking at her.
"I need you to understand something, and to believe me when I say it, okay? You didn’t make me walk out that door. I... it was all too much for me at once, and walking away like that? It only proved the exact opposite of what I told you... that I’m on your side. No matter what.” If a war were to break out, Nathaniel, the Greysons, had her full support. “I don’t feel alone and I know you’re here. Just like I’m here for you.” Even if she couldn’t be there the way that she wanted to be, she was still choosing to be there in some way because she couldn’t shut off the part of her that cared. She wasn’t built like that. He wanted to protect this town and his family, and Elysia wanted to help because if it was her family, she would do the same for them in a heartbeat. They may not have spoken in almost twelve years, but blood was thicker than water and Ely was the type who would give her life to save anyone she loved, without blinking beforehand. “No laughing.” She put emphasis on the words, narrowing her gaze as she looked at him and pretended not to buy that he wouldn’t laugh. Once she was closer to the bag, she firmly planted her feet and nodded as she listened to him. “You’re an original werewolf. I don’t think I could hurt you even if I tried,” she joked, inhaling a breath and exhaling before going in for the first punch. She ignored the part of her that was screaming at her to punch like she had the day before, choosing to focus on her breathing as a way to not focus on thoughts of her sister.
leo-levine:
As the girl played along with his lame attempt at a joke, Leo grinned, giving her a look that was a mix between amusement and slight disbelief. “Mike work’s fine, he’ll answer to that,” he replied. “Ah nah it’s okay. I don’t need help, thanks for the offer though. It’s not the outlet, well it’s not just the outlet. It’s got a lot goin’ wrong on the inside,” he said, looking back over at the item on the table.
"Mike Wave. That’s a very cool name.” Elysia was resisting the incredibly strong urge to roll her eyes at her own attempts at being a comedian. She knew she should quit while she was ahead. “Oh, it’s no problem. Figured it was the least I could do for, you know, sneaking up on you like this. I’m beginning to think I’m not the best to help you with it, anyway. There might be a spell for it, though.” The words slipped out before she could stop them, but she hardly cared. If he was human, he’d just call her crazy and if he was a vampire or a werewolf, hopefully he wouldn’t care what she was.
matty-stevens:
“Witch, huh? I bet people have some crazy powers here. What are yours? If I can ask that. Can I ask that? Is that rude?” He wondered how many supernatural manners there were that he would have to learn, and she seemed nice enough to learn them from. He was starting to wonder what exactly he had gotten himself into, in a town where the closest thing he had to humans were witches, who undoubtedly were powerful as hell. “I’ve lived in Cali all my life, so this is definitely going to be an adjustment. Finally leaving was hard, but this way I finally had an adventure, and I feel like this town is going to be an adventure in and of itself.”
"You can ask that. I wouldn’t suggest asking everyone that, but I don’t mind. I promise I won’t set you on fire for it,” she teased, relieved to not be the one rambling for once. “I’m pretty sure that statement made it obvious, but I’m pyrokinetic. And I can teleport... kind of.” She cringed, thinking of that embarrassing moment when she had teleported to the middle of a sidewalk while wearing her pink bunny pajamas. “Teleportation is a tricky thing. Not as easy as they make it sound.” She chuckled. “Well, Cali isn’t full of supernaturals. As far as I know, anyway, so that goes without saying. Must be nice, having that choice to leave. I’m not saying I can’t or I’m being held against my will or anything, but randomly showing up in someone’s house probably would freak some people out so I should wait until I get that under control. Adventure is one word for it, sure.-- Seriously, though, it really isn’t bad. The witches did a great thing when they made this place.”
catriona-the-witch:
“You never know where inspirations will find you.” She laughed, having found herself in situations like that more times than she could count. “That’s smart, and that’s one of the best ways that you can leave a mark. I don’t think that anyone ever wants credit for the lives they save, but it should be given anyway. it’s an incredibly selfless thing to do, being a doctor. You work such crazy hours and it’s a thankless job, but there will be people who really appreciate you, and those people will make it worth it, I hope. Do you know what kind of surgeon you want to be?” She sometimes forgot how much went into being a doctor, how many different ways one could go, and that had always fascinated her. Cat knew that she would never be able to do it, so she greatly admired Elysia’s spirit and determination. “It all depends. When I first moved to New York City, I was on overload. There were so many voices and so many feelings, that it completely set me over the edge. I spent a lot of time keeping my powers reigned in, and letting them go little by little so I could acclimate, and even then it was a lot but it became…comforting after a while. So then moving here, it was entirely too quiet. It still is, but the headaches I get now are because I do my best to keep it reigned in. People don’t want their brains picked apart all the time, but I don’t want to offend anyone, so I just deal with the headaches.” She shrugged, knowing that it probably didn’t make much sense, but being able to see the most intimate of people’s thoughts in such a small town sometimes felt like an invasion. “It’ll be more than worth it. I’ll buy you a pair of ridiculous scrubs for when you get to the end.”
"I wouldn’t say that. I mean, I totally agree that such selfless work deserves some credit, but I feel like there are some people out there who do want credit for the lives they save. Mostly because they’re arrogant. Even if there aren’t people who appreciate me, it will still be worth it at the end of the day. I’m going into it with this attitude that says that I know I can’t save everyone, but when all is said and done, I can say I tried and what more could I ask of myself? I was leaning more toward emergency physician, actually, but I’ve been giving it a bit of thought lately and I’m thinking I might want to be a trauma surgeon.” When she was first applying to medical school, she spent weeks thinking of what type of doctor she would like to be. If she could choose to be every kind of doctor, she probably would because all fields of medical practice fascinated her. “I imagine New York City is the one of the worst places to live when you can read minds. It is referred to as the city that never sleeps, after all. That’s... surprising. That it’s quiet here, I mean. I just feel like some of ours minds are racing all the time. I know mine is, anyway. I can’t say I understand, but I get it. And by get it, what I mean is that I respect that you don’t want to invade anyone’s privacy like that. Not that you’re exactly doing it on purpose, but still, pretty sure there are some people out there who would abuse that power.” Abuse of power could be a dangerous thing for a witch, she knew. “When I get to the end, we can throw a doctor-themed party and I’ll even wear those scrubs.”
evieducasse:
“What is it they say? Nothing worth having is easy.” Evie let out a soft scoff but simply shrugged her shoulders, not really caring to say anything more on the subject. She never liked to talk about what she’d been through before she’d met Nik and accepted the bite - it always led to questions she didn’t like to answer about a life and a man she’d been trying to distance herself from. “Take it from a pro,” Evie smiled gently, “It’ll do wonders.” She nodded her head once, listening to the story as a slight frown pulled the corners of her lips down. Reaching out to place a gentle hand over the other’s bruised knuckles, Evie took a step towards her friend. “I’m sorry, honey.. I can only imagine how hard that is. Is there anything I can do to help make the day a little better?”
Elysia pressed her lips together in response to the words, but chose not to comment on them. While she agreed with the statement to some extent, she couldn’t help thinking that sometimes all that fight didn’t seem worth it. “A pro, huh? So you go around punching things a lot?” she teased. She felt the heaviness in her chest easing. Not by much, but slightly, which was a start. Feeling Evie’s hand touch hers, Elysia tried to conjure up a smile, but only managed to flinch at the comfort. She appreciated the attempt at comfort more than words could ever express, but the thing was, she didn’t feel like she deserved it, not when she was the reason her sister was gone. “It’s okay... Well, it isn’t okay, but... you know what I mean. You’re sweet and I appreciate the offer more than you know, but... I don’t know that there is anything or anyone who can make this day a little better. I think maybe my family could, but that isn’t an option.... A distraction would be nice, I guess. Punching this bag is only really making me angrier.”
Kiss him. Kiss him as if he were Troy and you were born for war.

She hides it well so it’s not easy to see. But look at her smile and in the corner you’ll find the smallest hint of a sadness she can’t make disappear.

leo-levine:
Raising his brows, Leo looked at the girl with an expression full of amusement. His immediate guess was that she was a witch, but he wasn’t going to blurt out the fact, especially if he was wrong. “It’s no problem really - and you weren’t disturbing anything. I was just having some quality time with my microwave.” he joked lamely with a boisterous laugh. “Kidding, i’m trying to fix the bloody thing.”
Elysia was still a bit uncomfortable, but she managed a light laugh. At least he wasn’t treating her like she was weird, which was comforting. “It’s a fine Microwave. Does he have a name? Or should I just call him Mike for short?” she joked, internally cringing once the words had left her. “Um... I’d offer my assistance, but fixing things isn’t one of my specialties. Maybe it’s the outlet that’s broken? I thought my charger was shot until I plugged it into another outlet and it worked fine.”
You saw her beauty but not the i r o n underneath.
