Hey!I noticed you had instructions patterns on your site for bow and cloak but what about your boots?????? Did you make them? If you made them would you share the pattern? Have them made, and if by whom? I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks, Janet

Are you referring to the elf cosplay? If so, I bought some boots online and altered the tops a bit. Usually I try not to make own boots/shoes because it's so much work and I can find existing boots and make them look great!

Hi! I came across your gorgeous Luna cosplay while searching google for tips on how to go about making said cosplay. I was wondering, for the skirt part, did you use a sort of hoop skirt or a petticoat?

Hello! Thanks for reaching out, I'm happy to help. I ended up making a petticoat out of the underlayers for the skirt on accident lol (all of the tulle & organza covered in crystals), but it didn't poof out enough, so I took a semi circle of hoopskirt boning, and attached a boning channel along the inner bottom side of the fluffy petticoat. After sliding the hoopskirt boning in, it really did the trick! You definitely don't need to build an entire hoopskirt system if you have some extra layers. :) I hope that helps a bit!

I wore my Miriam cosplay this past weekend at ECCC, and while I didn’t stay in her for very long (as it was a pretty crowded con on Saturday), I was surprised to find that many people knew who I was! I absolutely love the direction that Iga is taking the game, and I’m eagerly and anxiously awaiting it’s release. In the meantime, I’ll work on shooting her on location soon. Ahhhhhh, so cool! An artist over at @displate seems to have used the likeness of our Alucard cosplay! I know that cos’ers at times can be upset about lack of crediting, etc... but I’m just flattered that someone out there liked our cosplay enough to use it as a reference. Should probably order one for myself, now that I think about it. Working on my next cosplay -- human form Luna from Sailor moon!

(Although its slow going due to time, but I’m in no rush!) I’m really just in the planning stages, with the skirt only completed so far. (On the far right) I have to alter the dress and do a little bit of finishing on it before I can say it’s completed. Just need to order my wig + buns... excited!

I livvvvvvvvvvvvve! So we’ve made our move into the Seattle area successfully, and are now mostly settled in and adjusted. Let me just say, it’s amazing to be back up here. Anyways, I’m slowly building back my momentum to work on costumes. While the majority of our belongings were in storage, I wasn’t able to work on much. I did end up putting together some jewelry though for Luna! (My next project!) Everything is brass -- the long necklace, earrings and anklet. The swarovski chain was an amazing last minute from L.A before our move... so I just centered the same color (Light Colorado Topaz) as the chain throughout the design. I custom ordered the larger moon pendant and the smaller one through etsy. The swarovski moon earrings dangle from left-over swarovski chain... ahhh, so sparkle! ٩(♡ε♡ )۶ I’ve got the dress more than half-way completed... really excited about this costume!

Love, love, LOVE the Terra cosplay. FF3(6... Whatever people call it now a days) is my favourite of the Final Fantasy series. The best in my opinion and you absolutely did it justice. Should we expect some Locke cosplay with it next?

Wow, thank you! I wanted to cosplay her a long time ago, and with some encouragement from a close friend who was making Celes, I felt it was a good a time as any. I just finished up another prop here, Alucard’s shield from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night! This was another challenge for me, as I’m still very new to prop work and larger builds. I lack a shop or garage to do what I really want to do (vacuum forming, fiberglassing, wood-work, etc), but I do what I can in our little apartment.. and this was the result! Materials used: EVA foam, worbla, woodglue, glass cabochon eyes, apoxie sculpt, silver + gold leaf sheets (gilding), enamel paints, acrylics, flat-back brass spots, a drawer handle (so you can hold it from the back)... and lots of TIME and ENERGY! We’ll be joining some of my close friends at WonderCon for our group cosplay from Symphony of the Night... so if you see a Dracula, Lisa, Alucard and Maria wandering the halls, do come say hi~! Hope to see you there!

K-U-P-O !! Who loves moogles? I really do! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) I made this little guy as a challenge since I've never attempted to make a plushie. He'll be a cute little buddy to go along with our Terra and Locke costumes! He's made from white/red/purple minky, has a little tuft of faux fur, and pink swarovski crystals to accent his ears. His eyes are a trim I had in my storage that looked like eyelashes, and I couldn't resist using it. My favourite parts of him are his big nose, and wobbly pom pom! I'll upload the pattern for everyone, so you can make a little buddy of your own if you so choose to. Overall a fun little project... you guys should give it a try!

Probably the first time I've also had a photographer offer to take close-up shots of my work. I love all of the photographers I've worked with over the years, but offering to take these photos really help me document my finer details... and makes my little crafty heart sing! So thank you Marc!

Moonlight Nocturne...

One of my absolute favourites from our Symphony of the Night shoot back in 2013. Please note that this is my husband playing the part of Alucard, not me. All costumes were hand-made, patterned and created tediously while using historical references and game art to create the look. I did my research and built patterns roughly in the same century as the game. It was quite a challenge. Photo was taken by Franklin Teng.

Styling, make-up & photo editing by me as well. I hope in the future, we'll be able to re-shoot these costumes on location! (A couple of my cosplay friends have hopped on the SOTN wagon, so we've got a Lisa & Dracula in the works!)

✞ The poet shirt and cravat are 100% cotton batiste. 

✞ The waistcoat is made from 100% dupioni silk, with hand-set nickle pyramid studs (A lot of patience with that on my part, lol), nickle buckles and vintage metallic lace circa 1940. 

✞ The frock coat is 100% velveteen (outer), interlined with black linen, and lined with this amazing silk that has a beautiful paisley/filigree pattern. The frock coat collar is 100% silk textured brocade, and the bias trim down the front of the coat was made by hand from the same material. Finally the looping details are 100% cotton trim in antique gold, coupled with brass enameled buttons.

✞ The cloak is matte duchess satin, lined with a gunmetal crepe satin. The collar was a feat of engineering, and I managed to get the right stand without using any wire or boning -- just a very stiff camel hair interfacing! (*___* Amazing stuff!!) The cloak clips were hand-cast by yours truly, and the sword was purchased, and decorated with large crystals to mimic the 'jewel sword' from the game.
