10 things i will do before 2017 is done.

1. i will get myself onto an intensive summer course at a top drama school

2. i will watch more good films (and less Netflix) 

3. i will stop over-thinking small things and focus on letting my confidence grow

4. i will visit a foreign country (probably somewhere in Europe before it’s too late)

5. i will learn more British sign language

6. i will make a new friend

7. i will learn to cook something healthier than brownies (or maybe just find a recipe for healthy brownies)

8. i will join a new theatre group and go to more auditions and masterclasses that will enhance my cv/ personal statement

9. i will smile more

10. I will work on my writing and actually post some of my reviews / creative pieces

Why the new blog.

I constantly promise myself that I will keep on top of writing and I never do, so the chances are this blog will go to shit, but I’m at the beginning of a new chapter so I guess you never know what could happen. 

So far 2017 has been a rollercoaster. I dropped out of university, applied for drama schools, to my delight got some recalls, then ultimately got rejected. I got a new job, then quickly realised I bloody hated it. I’ve lost some really good friends and I’m fatter, more pessimistic and a hell of a lot wiser than I was coming into this.

So with that in mind, I’ve decided that it’s time to start writing again, but this time not just about the audition process and tips and advice, this time I’m going to actually write about the real shit time you go through when your dreams are as big as mine. I’m going to be honest about how hurtful the rejection is and write down every experience, whether it is brilliant or hilariously awful. And most of all, I’m going to remember to write about my life outside of being a drama school applicant because I think I need to remember that I’m more than just a name that may, or may not, be on a recall list. 

Here’s to a new beginning, I hope you enjoy the ride.
