What is speciesism?
Speciesism refers to treating certain species as being morally more important than others, and believing that this is morally justifiable. We usually see speciesism in the form of humans believing that they are superior to and/or better than non human animals, and using this to exploit or use them in different ways.
Why should I care?
All forms of oppression are linked. If we all believe that some lives are better than others, we cannot ever live in a society free from discrimination and prejudice. Not only that, but how we treat other sentient, living beings reflects upon our own nature.
