Right now BTS is a mainstream thing right? But tell me WHY? Why are they better than other groups? I don’t want any hate, it’s just that I’m disappointed and I guess, clueless..
In my opinion, and let me clarify that once more MY OPINION, they are just any-other Kpop group. They are talented sure but tell me WHY they are better than EXO, SHINEE, SUPER JUNIOR, and ETC....? Don’t get me wrong, I like them, I did since their pre-debut. But if you wouldn’t concentrate only on their visuals, which aren’t any different from other Kpop groups, and payed more attention to their albums and music, how many of their songs would you actually listen on normal bases? They definitely have nice songs, being mostly title songs, but with each album their are losing it.. The amount of skits they have in their single album and with-ought title song and several others, I don’t see anything super special. Lyrics, okay, they do have meaningful message, at least used to have.. Also awards, have you already forgot about groups such as BIGBANG, 2NE1, EXO and many more, who broke loads of records and have one lots of amazing awards not only in Korea but also World-Wide. Now, coming back to BTS, I don’t know, I don’t feel their passion anymore.. I think it’s the fame, and public pressure. After all, they are the ones that entire world has eyes on. I hope they will get down from their stargaze state and return to being old BTS. I’m proud of them, really!!! I’m glad that they are doing so well, no hate here, really.
I guess the thing that is disappointing me the most is the current state of KPOP. I’m just wondering what happened to it. What happened to multifandoms? What happened to just listening to music as long as it’s good and nice? What happened to respect for other artist? I started to feel this whenever I meet younger generation, those who call them-self’s Kpop fans but in fact they are only BTS fans.. Kpop is not BTS!!!!! Have you ever listened to Kpop songs from early 2000? or mid 1990′s? That’s true Kpop! Kpop is something that used to have different, unique and amazing colors in the beat, lyrics and over all view. People who are new to Kpop they laugh at ‘SHINee - Ring DIng Dong’ but for me it represents Kpop, the unique, amazingly colorful, different, very attractive and enjoy-full.
I was happy when Kpop was underground thing to the world, it was a precious secret that me and only several others knew of. Now it’s a trend and it’s a BTS trend. I don’t want to talk about fans nor start any fandom wars because that’s the only thing that remained in Kpop.
