I don't understand why "Adrian doesn't like Grace at first" is as popular as it is on fanfics.

Imagine for a second you are Adrian surname The Eridian. Your spouse has been missing and presumed dead for around a decade, and suddenly one day an alien spaceship comes into orbit. And you cheer "Yay alien species have realized we have the same problem and have come to either give us a solution or join or efforts, too bad my mate is still gone."

Except he is not actually gone, because the eridian equivalent of a carebear decided to save them. And he doesn't want anything in return, in fact he is well aware that he might die A PAINFUL SLOW DEATH, shortly after fighting just to get the love of your life back to you. But it's ok :) because Rocky (yes he gave them a silly name) is my best friend! Oh- Are you ok-

I keep seeing people talk about their fan casting for the DCC live action series and in correlation how they find it hard to think of Carl as 27/late 20's. And I get it to an extent, because yeah, he does seem to have a much more mature mindset at times. But I feel like we're also forgetting that this "very mature seemingly older" guy's first solution to most things is "can I make a bomb for this?" And most of the time (at least up until book 5, I'm not beyond that yet), any time that we learn about Carl's life before the dungeon from Donut, it's mostly him sitting at his gaming desk in, you guessed it, boxers. If that doesn't read mid to late 20's male, I don't know what does. Not to mention, I think it's also important to look at Bea's character when discussing his age as that's who he was seeing before it all happened, and Bea as a character reads very young and immature, and also in her 20's. And I know guys date younger sometimes, but I just think there's too many factors to consider outside of the dungeon that appoints to Carl's age.

give me grace wearing ilyukinha's skirts and dresses. give me grace wearing eridian jewlery like earings, bracelets, necklaces and rings that make him sound pretty. give me grace allowing himself to feel pretty. give me grace wondering why this feminine name feels more natural than "ryland" ever did. give me grace feeling happy, relieved and for the first time not feeling boxed in by people because eridians don't have gender - for them, grace is just grace. give me grace playing around with pronouns - she, they, she/he? - and rocky accapting whatever pronouns grace is using for themselves too, because rocky always wants to match with grace. give me grace experimenting with gender. give me grace letting go of earth stereotypes about gender because, well, he's in space. who is gonna judge him?

give me grace finally feeling at home in their body and in who they are.
