Powell and Heather's second nest hatched today, and while their first nest was a set of twin boys, this time around it's triplet girls!

Dusk had already settled over the Shifting Expanse as the brilliantly-colored Skydancer flew over the desert, his shimmering scales and wings catching the last rays of light and reflecting them in flashes of orange and blue with each beat of his wings. Though his home was in a lair nestled deep in the Molten Scar of the Ashfall Waste, Sieverange preferred to spend his nights in the Highland Scrub with the loveliest little Pearlcatcher he'd ever met. He landed in front of the modest little lair with hardly a sound save for the faint tinkling of the golden bangles on his wings. The few dragons he knew in there didn't appreciate these evening calls he made to Breakwire but tolerated it only because their patriach, Seismicwave, did. Breakwire was one of his charges, and if Sieverange didn't bother him, then he didn't bother the rest of them. Tucking his wings to his body and holding his tail straight out and still, Sieverange entered the cave and looked around at the slumbering dragons. It wasn't a very big lair, roomy enough for every dragon to have their own sleeping space away from everyone else but small compared to the one he came from, so it wasn't hard to find the gray-colored Pearlcatcher among the other, more brightly colored members of her clan.

Breakwire was shifting about in her bedding, her steampunk gear laying beside her nest in a neat pile, ready for her to don them again the next morning. Whether or not she was asleep... Well, she was an insomniac. Chances were good she wasn't.

Sieverange leapt over the other sleeping dragons, the end of his tail batting against horns and frills and earning him annoyed hisses. He ignored them completely, settling down beside the other dragon and curling himself around her. She was asleep for once, but she reacted to his presence, pressing into the warm body behind her. A smile crossed the Skydancer's mouth. He covered her with one feathery wing to keep her close, content for now to watch over as she slept.

I'm putting together a hatchery thread to hopefully help sell my hatchlings better, and I've had lots of fun putting these together. I realize there's still a lot of work left to be done with these to make them look nice and get rid of any unwanted white pixels, but I'm reasonably pleased with myself so far on these.
