Hey everyone! I’m Emilia Fraise! I love my fumos as if they’re my own kids and I like to create Touhou related fanfics and TikToks (especially spicy 2hu material on my Ao3).

I’m obsessed with Touhou related crossovers, especially het/lgbtqia+ crossover ships involving any of the 2hu gals (and boi).

It’s been a while since I’ve been online so I hope I can create more 2hu related fan stuff. I also plan to express any Touhou crossover ship that I end up loving on here. I’ll also make sure to share my fanfics and such here and on Ao3. I’m sure I have my old 2hu & crossover ship fics somewhere but I’m sure I’ll find them someday and share them here too.

Being a Touhou fan in other fandom spaces that have zero knowledge about the existence of Touhou Project is one of the most interesting fandom related experience for me since I became a Touhou fan and Touhou became a special interest of mine. This definitely rings true for me at least in cases where I’ll be engaging in other fandom content regardless of the media and start making up little crossovers in my head where insert Touhou characters meets other characters from the other piece of media and then I’ll start re-listening to insert Touhou characters themes and re-reading their dialogue from the games. But then if I actually try to find crossover fanart or fanfics there is usually none depending on the other fandom and if I were to interact with the fans from the other fandoms in question and make a Touhou reference they wouldn’t exactly understand or play along.

I don’t know if it’s me but since I’ve become a Touhou fan, it’s really been interesting to see how Touhou Project and the fandom can influence the internet and fandom culture so much with things like fumos and Bad Apple!! plus more and at the same time no one really knows anything about Touhou Project. I know that some in the Touhou fandom have had similar discussions regarding if the Touhou fandom is a big fandom or not but in my experience at least it feels like a “niche” fandom that used to be kinda big in the mid to late 2000’s with certain themes and characters becoming sort of well known outside of the fandom. To me personally the Touhou fandom feels actually like Gensokyo in a way with the fandom being in this limbo or invisible state in comparison to other fandoms or at least that’s how I would describe why the Touhou fandom feels big and small at the same time to others in the same fandom space. It’s a strange fandom experience but for me I do quite like being able to interact with the Touhou fandom without worrying about things like ship wars or other needless drama the exception being what happened earlier this year with Touhou 20 but outside of that I feel at peace in this fandom or at least on Touhou Tumblr.

Though I do sometimes wish that more people in other fandoms knew about Touhou especially if the media that the other fandom is related to similar themes found throughout Touhou. It would be nice to see more Touhou crossovers with other media that isn’t anime related but shares similar themes and even to see new MAD and YTP videos with Touhou themes from newer movies and shows in a similar vain to Ronald McDonald’s Insanity. But at the same time I’m okay with Touhou Project and it’s fandom being “a little more hidden away” in comparison to other fandom spaces, I think that’s an aspect of the Touhou fan experience that makes getting into the series more magical in a way. Being able to see the creativity of the Touhou fandom for the first time when beforehand not even knowing what Touhou is really is a special way of getting into something new in comparison to other fandoms. It really is kinda like accidentally finding out about Gensokyo’s existence as a human from the outside world or at least this is how I felt when I first got into Touhou.

But I thought I’d share this little blurb on here since recently I’ve been making mini-crossover scenarios up with Touhou and a show I watched recently that I don’t post about on here because there just so happened to be a zombie character in the season so I’ve been re-listening to Yoshika’s theme a lot recently. And I’ve been thinking about how this other zombie character would interact with Seiga and even Reimu and Marisa since the zombie ended up “re-generating” and became the villain in the end with motives to take away another character’s powers that was slowly killing them while using another character’s powers at the same time but this combination has lead to multiple deaths in the past. I’m pretty sure if this zombie character ended up in Gensokyo, re-generated there and tried to do what they did at the of the season I was watching then their would be another incident since they would be trying to uses other Youkai’s powers and Reimu would be very pissed since she just got done resolving the Touhou 20 incident. I don’t usually share these mini-crossovers on here but I thought it’d be fun for a change. I’m pretty sure since Touhou is a special interest of mine, these mini crossover scenarios are just my way of interacting with the other pieces of media and I know that I’m probably not the only one who does something like this.

Anyways to others in the Touhou fandom reading this, what’s your opinion on whether the Touhou fandom is “big” or “niche”? And do you make random crossovers with other media with Touhou Project similar to what I described here cause sometimes I think it’s just me who does this? Would love to hear other’s opinions and thoughts on this. 🐾

I think the Touhou fandom is both niche and big!

I got into Touhou Project after discovering crossover fanworks involving Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. I’ve been into Touhou for a VERY long time.

I’ve been not only making up scenarios within the Touhou universe and crossovers. Especially crossover ships involving Touhou! I’m very guilty of this, my blog is very crossover involved lol! And I’ve been making fanfics of 2hu crossover ships too.

I’ve been seeing the Touhou fandom make up crossover ships too. It’s very interesting, cracky and cringe to others sometimes but it’s super creative too!!

I feel that the fact that the fandom likes to make Touhou crossovers and are chill about it is really cool. I’ve seen in other fandoms that do not like the idea of crossovers and crossover ships, but totally not the 2hu fans, I’ve rarely seen any negativity from them regarding that.

I’d be nice if Touhou gets more recognition someday! I’d be super cool to talk to more folks who love Touhou Project! (Bonus points from me if they’re down to talk about crossover ships involving Touhou in my opinion hahahah!! Sorry I’ll shut up now.)

Tl;dr: we may be small but we’re mighty!!! Unleash your creativity!!!
