“that's a good explanation. but honestly, i don’t think there's only water in the punch.”

“I think I’ll pass. I’m not trying to be the drunkest girl at prom,” she said as she declined the offer. “I’ll pace myself so I don’t get too embarrassing. You look really beautiful.”

emily gave a soft laugh. “i wouldn’t want to be that girl either. trust me.” and the blonde could get drunk easily. “thank you. i love your dress.” she nodded. “it’s actually lovely.”

“Obviously they spiked it, but the question is how many people put stuff in it and how cheap was it?” she pointed out, handing the other a water bottle to help get the punch down. 

“disgusting.” she had a disappointed look on her face, creasing her forehead. emily took the water bottle from the other. “thank you.” she offered the cup in her hand. “punch?”

“something is dangerously wrong with this punch.” she even made a face when she tried the drink again. “i mean, it’s not bad, but definitely weird.”

“pizza always makes a day better.” he said nodding as he agree’d with her. he was ready for school to be over and the holidays to start. “feels like it went on forever.”

“i know.” she exclaimed. “are you excited that you will soon graduate?” once they reached his car, she got in and immediately turned on the radio.

“alright.” he said as he watched her putting her things away, adjusting his backpack on his shoulder before walking once she was done. “how was your day?” ethan asked as they began walking to his car.

emily walked beside ethan. “i had pizza for lunch, so i'd say it was a pretty good day. i just can’t wait for summer vacation. i'm seriously counting the days.” she said with a small laugh. “how was yours?”

“we are.” he said with a soft smile as he stood up straight, his car keys in his hand. “i want to show you something.”

she raised her eyebrows, nodding. “sure. let me just get rid of these books.” she opened her locker and pulled out all the books that were making her bag heavier. “ she shared a smile. “let’s go.”

ethan smiled as he saw emily approaching her locker that he’d been waiting at. “hey.” he said as he looked over at her, his arms crossed over his chest. school had just finished and he needed to ask the girl something but he wasn’t going to do it here. “you free now?”

emily frowned a bit, but smiling once she saw the ginger boy apparently waiting for her. “hey.” she slid her hand down the strap of her backpack. “i actually am. are we going somewhere?”

emily raised her eyebrows, gently smiling. “thanks.” she had already seen the girl in her class. “i don’t think we have officially met. i'm emily.”

“I’m offering.” Mason clarified, what kind of ass hole would ask if someone needed a ride and then proceed not to give one? “Why would- has someone asked you if you needed a ride and then not given it to you?”

emily shook her head, glad mason saved her from having to walk home. it wasn’t far, but still, she’d have to walk. “cool.” she said. “i don’t know. people ask if you need a hand, but they don’t actually give you their hand.”

emily turned her head to the guy next to her. “apparently.” she said with a sigh. “are you only asking me if i need a ride or offering me one?”

“oh. great.” emily said as she looked around. “my ride home left me and i don’t even have my earpods.” she shook her head, biting her lower lip.

she smiled against his lips. “yeah, probably.” the girl kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck. “has anyone told you how cute you are, bennett?”
