Elizabeth sat at the kitchen table, her eyes focusing on her front door. Cadence was usually home by now. She only worked until the noon so how come she wasn’t home? Elizabeth had made plans with her and now she had no idea where the girl was. Elizabeth took out her phone and texted her and waited some more. 

Her eyes flickered towards the clock, her body getting antsy. She chewed on the inside of her cheek and let out a frustrated sigh, standing up quickly from the table. She grabbed her jacket and practically charged out the door. Maybe Cadence had heard the announcement and freaked out? Maybe she was still at the library? Elizabeth couldn’t know for sure.

She ran a hand through her dark, long hair, as she approached the person nearest to her. “Have you seen Cadence?” She asked as shoved her arms into her jacket, wrapping it around her body tightly. “She was supposed to be home over an hour ago but she’s not there.”

 Emily glanced up at the other as she took her headphones out of her ears. “No.” she shook her head. A look of horror appeared on her face at her friends sudden emotion. “I can help look for her though...” she offered her bestfriend a small smile. “I’m sure she couldn’t of wandered off too far right?”

Kayleigh turned when she heard the familiar voice call out to her. She waited for Emily to catch up, giving her a warm smile. “Sure,” she agreed with a shrug. They didn’t usually do dinner–they tended to be home, after all–but Kayleigh was always a fan of food. “I don’t see why not. What did you have in mind?”

Emily shrugged her shoulders before digging her hands into her jean pockets. “I was thinking chinese if you’re up for it?” she’d smile at the other. “Or pizza?”

Blake shook her head. “No. That’s what I have a power for. Besides, who runs places?” she answered. 

“You know i’d be tempted to say people who enjoy relieving stress.” she quirked an eyebrow at the other.

“Hey!” emily called out as she ran up to catch the other. she grinned nervously as her eyes glanced around the others face. “I was wondering, if your not too busy if you’d like to maybe get dinner tonight?” she glanced away from the other before she began chewing on the inside of her cheek. “i know it’s not what we usually do but i thought it would be something fun.”

“Hunt? well if you lift some weights with me later you have yourself a deal.” Hunter offered. Hunter couldn’t deny that, Emily was definitely one of his favourite ex’s. Hunter couldn’t help but be a show-off, so when he caught Emily looking at his chest, he flexed his pecks. “its not like its gonna be hard keeping up with you.”

“I could make time for such boring acts.” she smiled innocently at the other. “Besides i haven’t got anything planned till later tonight.” she grinned at the other before raising her eyes from his chest to meet his eyes. “No you never seemed to have that problem in the past did you.” flirting with him was innocent enough, it’s what they did and she couldn’t help but admit it made her feel close to the other again.

Blake had never had a hard time keeping fit, but she wasn’t particularly fond of running. It worked, and it was good for cardio, but she’d always preferred doing something that wasn’t so repetitive. She appreciated any interruption from the monotony, even if it was from a stranger. “Yeah,” she answered, slowing to a jog to chat with Eleanor or whatever her name was. “It’s a good amount of chill.”

Emily raised an eyebrow at the other as she slowed down to talk to her. “It’s cold enough to stop the sweat anyways.” she’d shrug her shoulders before turning her attention back to where she was running. “Are you running anywhere in particular or?” she’d pause her sentence hoping the other would finish it for her.

Hunter had his gym bag in hand, planning on making his muscles hurt that much his power would kick in. Plus it showed off just how good his body was, even if it was covered in scars. “For running? I guess that's a personal choice, I prefer lifting weights.”   

“You should join me hunt, i think you’d have fun.” she’d grin at the other before elbowing him gently. “Besides you’d get to spend time with your favourite ex.” she’d smile innocently at the other as her eyes trailed over the others torso. “i need someone to be my pace partner anyways, our great conversations would just be an added bonus.”

Emily knelt down to tie her shoe up before rising and tighterning her hair. She glanced around to see who was around before she started on the next part of her run. She smiled when she saw a familiar face, running after them “Hey!” she’d grin before slowing down to there pace. “It’s a great day for it don’t you think?”

Kayleigh wrinkled her nose. “Bad breakup, huh?” Not that she knew what that was like–her last relationship ended with a ghosting, and it wasn’t as painful as it probably should’ve been. “You’ll get over them eventually.”

Emily shrugged her shoulders before looking the other over. “It wasn’t even a breakup we weren’t technically dating? i guess i was just excited about something more stable than Jonathan?” she’d let out a small sigh, she struggled to talk to anyone about that particular relationship but with Kayleigh it was easy they’d had similar dealings with the man. “You look good.”

“I know you don’t but I do.” Elizabeth said as she sat there at the bar, waiting for their drinks. “Alright fine, you can be a bad influence but not to the point where I’m drunk.” She said to her friend. “I can’t drink too much or else I could potentially lose control over my power. And that is not happening tonight.” Her voice was stern at the last part. She was not about to have a good night out turn into a horrible one because of her power. “Are we in agreement with that?” 

Emily let out a loud sigh before giving up on her indevor. “Fine. But can we try and work on getting you some control?” she’d smile softly at the other. “I didn’t mean to push tooo much, but sometimes i like to see how far i go? y’know its like were siblings and im the little sisters that likes hitting all the buttons.” she’d reach other and squeeze the others hand gently.

“I’m not sure if Joseph would like that.” Elizabeth chuckled. She already had enough problems, she didn’t need to add any more to her plate. “Are you saying you’re going to be a bad influence on me, Em?” She teased as she sat up straight at the bar. “You know I don’t drink that much so I probably won’t drink too much tonight.” She informed her friend. “Sure, but I’ll pay for the next round.”

“This just in, i dont care what joseph thinks.” she’d tilt her head towards her bestfriend before letting out a laugh. “If i can’t be a bad influence i don’t really know what the point of us being friends is my dear.”  she’d nodded along as she listened to elizabeth talk. “You don’t have to pay, and please have a few let me treat you like a queen tonight okay?”

““There’s no might about it, I’m almost certain they have a cult plotting my demise.” Hunter tried to be serious, but he couldn’t it was to easy to make jokes then be serious. ““There’s bumps and then there’s disagreeing on how I use my power.” He retorted. ““I think it shows that we’re people who prefer to have friends then enemies.” 

“Well if they don’t you have my promise i won’t participate.” she’d smile evily at the other before elbowing him in his side. “I mean friends are always better, i don’t think your enemie will show up on the doorstep with baked cookies.” she’d raise an eyebrow at the other before smirking. “Unless there trying to posion you.”

““Don’t go crazy on me, you were my only sane ex.” He retorted humorously. “Well there is a reason why we didn’t work em. Imagine being my wife and dealing with that.” It was said as a funny reply but there was some truth to his words. “I know they would, but there has to be mor of a selling point right?”

Emily chuckled softly at the other before elbowing him in the side. “Don’t talk so poorly about your exes, they might gang up on you.” she’d tease him before shrugging her shoulders. “Every relationship has its bumps, obviously we didn’t survive the duration.” she’d smile softly at the other. “If we can remain friends after breaking up there has to be some more selling points right?”

“I am not going to be your wing woman if all you’re going to do is wallow.” Elizabeth said with a small smirk on her lips. “You appreciate me? I haven’t even done anything.” Elizabeth shook her head slightly. “Just let me know after tonight if you still feel that way.” She said as she began pulling her towards the club that had a bar in it. “Now stop wallowing and let’s have fun.”

Emily smiled brightly at the other as she was dragged to the bar. She sat up on the stool and ordered two drinks one for each of them. “Do you think we’ll have to join Alcoholics anonymous after this?” she’d tease the other before pulling her into a hug. “Drinks on me?”

“Move on from what?” Kayleigh asked, curious and just a touch concerned for her friend. “Are you ok?”

“A certain blonde haired individual.” she’d smile sadly before shrugging her shoulders. “I’m alright now, time heals all wounds right?”

Mackenzie raised a brow at the woman’s words “why exactly were you in hiding?” She asked, she figured that if the brunette hadn’t wanted to talk about it then she wouldn’t have brought it up.” 

“It’s complicated but i was pretty keen on someone and they left me without even a warning.” she’d sigh before shrugging her shoulders softly “It’s whatever, theres plenty of fish in the sea.”
