I believe it is more than fair to argue that Bones as a whole is completely and utterly underrated. Every actor, scene, and quote is underappreciated (not by fans). This show so rarely receives the praise and accolades it truly deserves. So for me, it was simply impossible to select the most undervalued moments throughout the years. Because every moment is vital, from beginning to end. Every scene is infused with meaning. The humor, the sorrow, the friendship, the love- all of it is woven together to comprise the fabric of this beautiful story. The scenes above are merely the first that came to mind. I suppose you could say they are less “obvious” than some fan-favorites. There is so much going on beneath the surface, and so much to be said about each and every one. But often times, we gloss over these scenes for those with more overt displays of love, affection, or drama. They are overshadowed. On another day, this post could feasibly look completely different. Bones is honestly the best kept secret among its fans. To the untrained eye, it may appear to mimic a procedural series. But at its core, we all know that it is first and foremost about the characters. The characters and their journeys. Their triumphs and their pain. Their laughter and their tears. Every moment is worth the world to me. Because every moment is a brick on the path of these characters’ lives. Profound scenes are a dime a dozen on this show, and we as fans are sometimes spoiled as a result. Bones is all heart. Well, brain and heart. And “I could no sooner choose a favorite star in the heavens” than a favorite underrated scene (or even 10).
