*goes to sleep around 1:30am instead of 3:30am* i am the epitome of health and wellness look at me managing my sleep schedule and going to bed EARLY like a functional member of society!
sure, I donât get a âhealthyâ amount of sleep like SOME PEOPLE do but can they do THIS *stands up, blacks out for a second*
This should not make me laugh as much as it does.
Society: LGBT+ people are monsters
Us: *gathering up cryptids and monsters in our arms* these are ours now
Society: wait no that's not-
Us: too late the babadook is a gay icon and I'm dating mothman
when will Ted himself.. finally show up to the Talk ?
The final boss
You guys know TEDtalks stands for technology, entertainment and design talks right?
I will not let Ted hide behind these lies any longer

lgbt people: lol the babadook is gay!! this is a funny meme/in-joke for us lol!!
demon hets, primed to draw sassy gay stereotypes:
LGBT
lesbian gay babadook two bros chillinâ in a hot tub five feet apart cause theyâre not gay
But itâs not illegal. Marriage is just not recognized as something lawfully binding. No one is being arrested for being homosexual and loving another. lol
If youâre a LGBT citizen in  Sudan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Qatar, UAE or parts of Nigeria, being gay is punishable by death. (Source:LGBT relationships are illegal in 74 countries, research finds, by Siobhan Fenton) So yeah, no one is arrested for having a different sexual orientation. Theyâre killed for it.
Also, until 2003 being LGBTQ WAS illegal in 13 states.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_v._Texas Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558 (2003) is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court. The Court struck down the sodomy law in Texas in a 6-3 decision and, by extension, invalidated sodomy laws in 13 other states, making same-sex sexual activity legal in every U.S. state and territory.
They used to kick down gay peopleâs doors and arrested them while they were in bed.
They used to raid gay bars to find crossdressers, GNC and trans people to arrest (thatâs how Stonewall happened).
They used to make up fake charges against gay people to allow them to still arrest them for being LGBTQ.
It being legal to be gay in the US is a very new thing.
Today is one of those days when I realize that people below the age of 30 know a very different world than I do.
Theyâre literally rounding up gay people and putting them in concentration camps in Chechnya.
also the U.S. denied LGBT refugees from Chechnya visas so they could escape
teacher: letâs go around the class talking about our hobbies n interests:) letâs start wth you shall we? :)
me:
a lot of people genuinely donât seem to understand just WHY a significant amount of gay people have loved yuri on ice so much. itâs not JUST because itâs a gay couple. there have been plenty of terrible anime and manga that portray gay and lesbian couples in unhealthy, fetishistic ways. YOI is different.
There were no creepy age gaps, no creepy sexual aggression, no fetishistic scenes of viktor and yuri making out in maximum detail. they were two grown men in deep love with each other who showed it in simple, realistic wayâshopping dates, holding hands, having arguments where they constructively and honestly dealt with their problems came out closer on the other side, emotionally supporting each other. It is so very much unlike so many anime before it, and it didnât bait us either. No one was called a slur, no one died, and they were happy in the end, together! Thatâs a fuckin rarity.
So no we donât take yoi because itâs a scrap and weâre desperate, people in the community like it because itâs a healthy, positive portrayal of two people of the same gender in love with each other and supporting each other.
The other reason it was so important to me was the total lack of homophobia in this universe. Because after episode 7, while I was wonderfully surprised and utterly delighted that we werenât being baited after all, I was bracing myself for the backlash I expected against two famous male athletes who kissed on international TV. But then? It never happened. There WAS no controversy, no disgust, no drama, no one even felt the need to mention it because two men being in a romantic relationship is seen as a perfectly normal in this world. Thereâs never any insults about their orientation or jokes where being gay is the punchline. Thereâs no âb-but weâre both guys!â bullshit. Two men are allowed to kiss and be in love and just exist like itâs no big deal!
I didnât realize before YOI how much I needed a fantasy like this. Itâs exhausting when so much queer media is about our suffering, about kids thrown out of their homes and threats of violence and staying in the closet for your own safety. It felt so liberating to see that, oh, we donât always have to tell stories about that. We donât always have to be ârealistic.â We can tell stories about people like us in a world thatâs better and kinder. That realization felt like being set free. I could write stories about people like me, without the silence and fear. That really means a lot to me.
