“Ahhh… I see now.” Emma made the connection between the names. If he used to write and was called the Author, then it made sense that he was now a storyteller and was called the Host. She seemed a little calmer now, but definitely still excited to be seeing someone who had meant so much to her existence.
“If you do not mind me asking, Mr. Host…” Gods, there were so many questions to ask. Which one first? “How… How were your stories so realistic? I mean, you were just so talented, and well… The man with the bat in particular…” There were so many rumors that the writer had had some sort of super-human power, and this man before her also had some sort of power. So it wouldn’t exactly have been a leap to say the Author was gifted in some way.

The Host smiled a little at the question, though it seemed almost strained. Humans always thought his stories were based on real events. That’s what he told anyone who asked and didn’t know better as well. The Author had believed he was causing the stories to happen.
“I simply knew what was happening somewhere else.”, he answered. They reached his room, so he opened the door, motioning for Emma to come inside. An elegant black cat, with piercing golden eyes, was easily spotted. “I had thought I was causing the events to happen. I learned that wasn’t the truth.”.
Emma smiled and nodded politely at the gesture, humming in confirmation that she understood what the other was saying. “Hunh. That’s wild... What a good basis for a story!” The thought that those things happened... That was a tad frightening. But she had both seen and done worse. Far worse.
As soon as the cat was spotted, the woman went to it, holding a hand out to let it sniff at her. She giggled a bit when it sniffed her fingers and the whiskers grazed her skin. “What a pretty kitty!” she cooed. “What’s your name, hm?”
Then, Emma began to... meow.
Not exactly as humans heard it, but as cats did. It wasn’t the stereotypical noise, but a few soft hums and head motions. In order to pull this trick off, her vocal chords had had to change, and a light grey mist had drifted from her skin as they did so. Now they shifted back, the mist returning for a split second. She chuckled. “I have to admit -- If I was not having a riveting conversation at the moment, I’d shift straight into one of you! I’m definitely a cat person myself. Though Elliot’s more into dogs...” She trailed off and hummed again, content in petting the feline creature.

"Meeting Of Strangers. Coincidence?"
Elliot couldn’t help but give a chuckle. It was always fun- these initial interactions with humans, before he revealed who and what he really was. The burlier man reached down and retrieved his watch, raising an eyebrow with a smirk. He clicked it open, no problem, and handed it off again. It was now cold, as if no one had ever touched it.
“Don’t worry, Sxhon… It’s trained. It wouldn’t actually harm you…” He began to turn, as if leading the scientist to walking with him, and glanced back, adding, “Unless I told it to, of course.”
Ah, being mysterious and mischievous. The alien had to admit, he really missed this kind of thing. It was what he had been known for in his youngest days. Elliot –and Emma as well– had been known for mystery, danger, flawlessness, a seductive nature, and all around badass-ness. He had been the savior of galaxies, the prince of planet systems. He’d better be good at this by now.
Especially with humans of all creatures.
Since Elliot knew he was going to be followed, he continued talking. The man did still possess his property, after all. “Perhaps one day I shall share my secrets… Maybe when you’re studying me in your fancy lab,” he teased, aiming for making the man a bit flustered. It was always easier to come off as the suave hero when others were not as collected as they could be.
Manipulation by a much friendlier and less malicious name indeed.
Sxohn breathed out slowly and shakily reached for the watch. He took the watch in his hand and examined the inner workings carefully. He turned the lens in his glasses, giving a small breathy laugh. “Th-This is remarkable! I have never seen anything quite like this before.. Trained you say? Very peculiar…” The scientist said as he placed his hand on his face.
He quickly followed behind Elliot, holding the watch out for him to take. He blushed at hearing about studying the other in his lab. “St-Studying… you in my lab..?” He asked, his breath hitched a little but he tried to play it off. “I’ve… Well you see… Oh dear..” Sxohn said as he tried his best to catch his breath and tried not to jumble his words.
“No one had ever actually been to my lab before. The only time I was with another human in that lab was when my father was alive and when they brought me back to live at home, not even a year ago. It really has been a long time since I’ve been with another person, like actually talked to another person. It feels… weird when I talk to people, but for some reason talking to you isn’t so bad…” Sxohn turned away as he said that, becoming embarrassed as he rambled on.
“I’m sorry about that. When I get nervous I just keep talking and talking until I realize what I’m doing. This feels like deja vu actually, I told you this earlier.” He said looking back at Elliot with a grin. “I do have one question for you.” Sxohn said walking closer to he other, this time turning the opposite lens of his glasses. It was almost like he was inspecting Elliot. “Are you human, Elliot?”
Elliot was beaming as the other man examined his watch. Memories of the way the item and him had first met and become companions flooded his mind and left him with a soft, reminiscing smile. He began to chuckle when the other was flustered, his goal having been accomplished, but he felt a small pang of pity at hearing the other continue. Elliot remembered times where he had gone through something similar, but the scientist’s whole existence was this way... Hunh.
“No need to apologize, my dear. Speak all you wish.” But he slowed a bit to meet the scientist’s eyes when he heard his inquiry. He began to laugh. “Now you’re asking the real questions!! With the exciting answers!”
There was a new spark in Elliot’s eye as he answered, his gaze not breaking. “No. I am not of this world.” He hummed another soft laugh and turned back forward, leaving it at that for a moment. However, his sly side had cracks from not being used as often. He was too eager.
“I’m what you call... an alien, in English.”

Elliot had been about to pull his hand back at hearing the others reasoning for not shaking, but was pleasantly surprised that the man returned the gesture. His grip was usually just that firm and full of power – something the alien could not actually help if he tried.
He chuckled a bit at the man’s tendency to ramble, making it into a bit of a joke. “Woah, woah there…!” He put his hands up as he jested, putting them right back down again as he continued to reply. “You’re quite the talker, hunh. Lucky for you, I enjoy listening – and conversing in general.”
The larger man’s thumbs hooked themselves around the belt loops on his pants, a half smirk emanating down to the shorter one. “Yes, I am from London. It is where I learned to speak English. And as for your question… Yes, perhaps I was a bit interested in conversing with you.” He laughed again, realizing how blunt and open the other was, even if it was not intentional.
“You seem like you are a smart man. A man of science and experimentation. I would love to pick your brain about a few things, if allowed… And yes,” he hummed in a suave way, teasing, “You can look at me for as long as you want.” He sealed the statement with a wink, rubbing his chin to play up the mood.
“And besides–” Elliot snatched the watch back from the others hand rather quickly, not in a malicious way, but in the blink of an eye. He clicked it open and it almost seemed as if it was… smoking slightly? A very brief, very fine trail of black drifted upwards, it disappearing once it was shut again. “This thing only opens for me.”
Placing the watch back in its place -the chain clipped to his belt loop, the clock itself nestled in his pocket- the presumably English man crinkled an eyebrow and looked up, catching the other’s eye again. “Hm. What was your name again, by the way…? I’d also enjoy asking a few questions about that prosthetic of yours… What is your type of work? I am quite fond of ‘odd’ things.”
“M-My name is Dr. Sxohn Triblanka. I am a Thantologist who also specializes in the Multiverse theory. This is the field my father was in before he passed. I am merely following in his footsteps.” Sxohn said as he watches the smoke erupt from the pocket watch. “What an interesting item you possess. And you say, it will only open for you? What would happen if I was to try and open it? Would I obliterate into nothingness? Set ablaze at the mere sight of what’s inside? I am just itching to find out now.” He said ogling at the watch. “What is that essence emerging from it? He rotated his left lens, studying closely. "I’ve never seen anything quite like that before, how very curious.” Seeing this made the male walk toward Elliot with no problem, reaching his hand out toward the other. “You… You know of my prosthetic?” Sxohn said pulling his hand away and staring at his gloves. “But my gloves are on, how did you know?” He asked staring to feel his nerves tense again. “Oh my…”
Elliot let a hearty chuckle ring out from his chest, obviously amused by the nature of the other. "Sxohn, eh? What an unusual name. I like it."
But he quirked an eyebrow when the man pulled his arm back. "You just explained it to me -- or do you talk so fast that you do not remember?" he grinned, reaching into his pocket once again.
"Here." The alien pulled out his alien watch, still keeping it attached to the long chain around his belt, and offered it to Sxohn. "Open it and see..." He had a smile on his face that said 'I know something you don't know', but not in a malicious way -- if the scientist attempted to open the watch, the button would click, but the face would not open. No matter how hard he tried. Eventually, if he continued, it would start to get hot, too hot to hold.

Being so invested in one thing in particular can take a toll on you. You may get frustrated, angry, it ma even drive you mad, insane. Sometimes it is just best to step back and walk away from your activity. It is best to take and deep breath and relax. Even in times when you need relaxation, things can happen that get you invested in something else. Will it drive you mad?
Sxohn sat on a park bench and read a book, quickly skimming through the pages. He had read this all before, but something was faulty in one of his experiments. Sxohn may have been a young nineteen, but he was a bright minded scientist following in the footsteps of his deceased father. “I could’ve sworn my calculations were correct. Did I overestimate? Underestimate? Did I forget something completely? So many things could’ve gone wrong…” He said pressing his palm to his lips. “No, stop thinking about all of this. You’re supposed to be relaxing, clearing you mind of all these thoughts. You need to pull yourself together and thinking about something else.” The male said closing the book and setting it beside him. He looked up to the clouds and began studying the shape, the outline of the clouds. “Clouds aren’t very interesting, but they are relaxing to watch.” He thought to himself. Suddenly a gust of wind blew, alarge breeze. Something told him to look forward, something was drawing him. Sxohn looked forward, locking eyes with another man whom hadn’t been their before. Human interaction wasn’t a strong point with Sxohn, and his breathing began to quicken slightly. He felt very anxious, but wanted to call out to the other male. Before he could say a sentence, even a word, the other male dropped something in the grass and began walking in the opposite direction. This item intrigued him, but he wasn’t sure if it was safe. Reluctantly, he walked over the object and picked it up; it was a pocket watch and he quickly began inspecting it. “Did he… do this on purpose? Does he want me to… follow him? Is this safe?” Sxohn asked himself as he swallowed the saliva in his mouth. After a few minutes, he finally worked up the courage to follow the unknown stranger. He fixed his lab coat and walked in the respective direction.
It seemed like hours since he had been walking, but he finally began to see a figure in the distance. Once he was close enough, he finally spoke out to him. “E-Excuse me, sir. You seemed to have dropped this pocket watch. It is a lovely pocket watch, does it have a lot of history? I haven’t seen one like this one before.” Sxohn asked with a small grin. “Are you… do I know you? You have confused me greatly.” @emmaisawanderer
Elliot knew that look.
The look of smarts, of brains, intelligence. Stolen adolescence, robbed childhood.
He had a similar look about him. Of course he would know.
The Wanderer decided to capture the attention of the stranger, knowing for a fact that the being's curiosity would get the best of him. The alien caused a breeze, sending along a smell of freshly fallen rain showers -- and small flecks of silver energy disguised in the gust. They were some of his auditory cells, so he was able to pick up the man's hushed whispers to himself.
Then the larger male turned and left, letting his beloved pocket watch loose from his belt loop. Smirking slightly, he exited the park, knowing for a fact the other would follow -- curiosity, of course.
Elliot was not a small looking man. He carried his broad shoulders very square with the rest of him, his back muscles visible beneath his dark blue t-shirt. He had long legs cloaked in black jeans, and he wore rather nice leather-looking men's dress shoes. His shoulder length dirty blond hair was tied up in a loose bun, his bright blue eyes accented by the color, which matched that of the stubble that grew around his square jaw.
This man could've easily been a model.
He conjured the breeze that carried his cells back to him and they reconnected with his form. Hearing the man from the park approaching from behind, Elliot couldn't help but let a small grin of satisfaction stretch across his thin lips.
The man who began to speak was a smaller and younger looking being. Since Elliot could tell his nerves were a bit high, he replied with a warm chuckle, and sunshine in his voice.
"My, my! Thank you very much, my friend -- this item is of great value," his slightly accented English came out, smoothly. He put his hand out to receive the watch. "It has quite the history indeed.
"And I am not sure if we do. If not -- hello..." Elliot's other hand went to give a friendly shake. "My name is Elliot."

Humans are adorable.

1. Humans say ‘ow’, even if they haven’t actually been hurt. It’s just a thing they say when they think they might have been hurt, but aren’t sure yet.
2. Humans collect shiny things and decorate their bodies and nests with them. The shinier the better, although each individual has a unique taste for style and colouring
3. Humans are not an aquatic or even amphibious species, but they flock to bodies of water simply to play in it. They can’t even hold their breath all that long; they just love to splash!
4. When night falls and the sky goes dark, humans become drowsy and begin to cocoon themselves in soft, fluffy bedding.
5. Some humans spend time in each other’s nests! Just for fun! It’s not their nest; they’re just visiting each other.
6. Some humans use pigments and dyes to make their bodies flashy and colourful! They even attach shiny dangly bits to their cartalidgous membranes!
7. Humans are very clever, and sometimes adopt creatures from other species into their family units. They don’t seem to notice the obvious differences, and often raise them alongside their own young!
8. If a human sees another creature in distress, they can commonly be observed trying to help! Even at their own risk, most humans are deeply compassionate creatures!
9. If a human hears a particularity catchy sound or tune, it will often mimic it, even to the point of annoying themselves!
10. Sneezes are entirely involuntary, and completely adorable. Especially when the human in question becomes frustrated
11. Humans love treats!!! Some more than others. Many humans will save these treats specifically for a later date when they are in need of comfort or reassurance. IE, pickles, pop tarts, Popsicles, etc
12. They’re learning to travel in space!!! They can’t get very far, but they’re trying!!! So far, they’ve made it to the end of their yard, and have found rocks
