Poor Marina…
I wish we had our own time machine so we could start from scratch.
like if you save
Those girls rule the world
thesatori:
angie could quickly feel her energy quickly draining as the day went on. her powers were acting all weird (probably because she had no training on how to use them) and every time she turned around she was accidentally listening to someone’s inner monologue. “i need coffee. one cup was not enough this morning. want to go? it’s on me.” she said.
" I’m not sure that’s a question you ever need to ask me, you should know that by now, Ang.” Emma teased, nudging the other playfully with their elbow. “ And if I do, it’s clear it’s an impostor pretending to be me.” Not that anyone would ever want to pose as her. “Sounds like we need to up our game and have a few espresso shots added.”

“hey, I was just about to grab some lunch–wanna join? maybe if you’re feeling lucky, I’ll pay for it.” the young man offered, slipping his wallet into his pocket. William didn’t have work today and thought it would be something nice to do.
Emma glanced down at her watch, glad to have managed to snag something to keep track of the time with their first decent pay check. Sure, it was a hand me down from the thrift store, but what was to be expected on an island like Trask? “I think I have a little time to spare before I have to be back, and food is always a good way to spend it, especially if there’s a chance of not having to pay.” She smirked. “What are we having?”
bittersweet, inch worm
crayola asks.
bittersweet — get along with your parents?
i was quite young when they died, so i never really had a chance to not get along with them nor did i truly know the true nature of them until later on.
inch worm — first album you bought?
It wasn’t an album, but when I was young, my bubbe got me hooked on listening to old time records, saying the experience and the sound was much better than that modern day nonsense, she was right. so, the first vinyl i remember buying when i got my first record player was nevermind by nirvana.
chestnut, beaver, sunglow
crayola asks.
chestnut — favorite fruit?
mangoes, though it’s been far too long since I’ve had one. here on the island, guava and dragon fruit definitely hit the spot when it’s the right time of year.
beaver — favorite planet?
uranus, of course.
sunglow — favorite musical?
fiddler on the roof, i loved watching it with my dad growing up. it’s the only musical we’d ever be able to get him to watch.
komirei:
Surprised that the girl even considered her request, mirei tried to hide a shocked look. Though she didn’t know how well she hid it. Pushing up her glasses, something she realised she did when she got excited, she responded, “well, i’m getting a bit desperate here, so i think i’m throwing credibility out the window as this point,” she gave the girl a pen, “this isn’t a really controlled experiment with state-of-the-art tech, so the papers just to make sure you won’t sue me if i accidentally blow off your brains, assuming you live,” she smiled, “my name’s mirei, by the way,”
It wasn’t as though Emma lacked an education, she did, but beyond the basic education and what she was getting through her internship, she wouldn’t be considered the most qualified on the island, nor did their abilities help. “ Just so long as they don’t have any sort of drugs in them, I’m beyond down for this.” The last time Emma was slipped a drug, things didn’t end well, especially when you throw her abilities into the mix of things. “ I mean, I’m fine with that, and I could never sue someone for giving me gummy bears....wait, blow my brains?” Emma perked a brow, reaching out for the papers. “That’s a pretty name, mine’s Emma, nothing fancy.”
honcychurch:
“yeah, i always try to keep him away from the new recruits. he’s just not as strong as the other kids; the island is all he knows.” she bounced oliver on her knee and looked at him. he let out a little whine. “besides, it’s not like there’s really anything good for his immune system on that boat.”
“ Wouldn’t exposing him help his immune system? I mean, not just that, it’s important to be around other kids, even if it’s hard, especially with where we are.” Emma glanced over at the child, then back at the mother with a concerned looked etched over her features. “ You should talk to one of the guys that works on the boat, that goes back and forth between the mainlands. They might be able to help you in getting specifics.” She offered with a soft smile.

mirei wasn’t that sure that someone would be interested in the new research programme she made, she wasn’t sure if she herself would have joined. who would willingly study the effects of gummy bears on your brain? of course, she did receive numerous prank joins. which may or may not have hurt her pride, and her esteem, but it was still worth the risk.
“hello,” she said calmly, approaching the stranger, “i’m conducting a research, on the psychological effects gummy bears have on your brains. this is a serious programme, so i’d appreciate it if you’d have some credibility under your belt,” she handed a clipboard to the stranger.
as she sipped her morning chai on a park bench, the sounds of rustling leaves caught her attention and drew her eyes from the leaf her gaze was chasing. “hmm?” she questioned as she glanced up, once she’d realized someone had spoken to her. “ does this mean i have to eat a ton of gummy bears and you’ll have a look at my brain or ? because i’m certainly not opposed to that idea, but as far as credibility goes, that’s a bit more questionable.”
bobbyraymond:
Bobby was sitting out on the porch with a cigarette and coffee at nine-o’clock on a Saturday morning. He saw someone watching him as he lit up, not knowing if it was the cigarette, the messy porch, or the rumpled clothes from last night he still wore that caught their attention. “Mornin’!” Bobby called out as soon as he had the tip lit and he could pull the cigarette away from his lips for a drag of lovely, cancer-causing smoke. “Want to watch me kill myself with this shit?”
“That....depends. Do I have to worry about you haunting me if you do end up dead?” Emma half joked, though their words were genuine. For her, someone dying didn’t necessarily mean goodbye, but some she’d rather it did, no matter how horrid that seemed. “ Because I’m not sure if I can deal with another haunting, it’s bad enough as is this time of year.”

piper was looking for work, but there were so many roadblocks these days that she barely had the time to even start on something before she was dragged back into caring for oliver. he had a fever now, and was coughing even as she rocked him back and forth. “can you hand me the blanket over there?” she asked, pointing to the small square of cloth on the table. “it must be all of the changing weather. everyone’s getting sick.”
emma was off for the day, their mentor had called in sick, pleasantly surprising emma. she loved her internship and being able to help others, but it was exhausting and often left her drained, so the break was needed. “ i get that, my mentor called in sick today, but it’s bound to happen in such a small town with so many different people, especially with a new group of mutants just arriving..” she replied in a mumble as she held out the blanket to piper. “ especially when you take into consideration how much we’re lacking on the medical front..”
