Her voice stops time – sonorous with history and rich – and in those few stolen moments when it does you can think, escape and dream. “Alabaster” is taken from In Search of Harperfield, the new album from Emma Pollock, eleven-songs long and which took five-and-a-half years to make. The album will be released by Glasgow’s legendary Chemikal Underground, a label whose name I can hear John Peel saying in my head to this day. Out on January 29th, you can order CD, 180g vinyl and digital copies of it now. If you’re not familiar with The Delgados, you can start discovering their music here.
