From the start of 2025 to now, he had 6 weeks off in Jan-Feb 25. He also had another 4 weeks off screen in Nov-Dec 25.
This year, he had 3 weeks off in January. (A lot of the older regulars seem to take similar months off year on year. Moira and Laurel are ones I've spotted too.)
Not time off, but between week 18 and 22 he was in only 2 scenes a week for five weeks, so minimal screen time.
But the 6 weeks in January 2025 was his longest consecutive time off screen in the last two years.

This week was perfectly average, and there seemed to be nothing remarkable about any characters appearances this week.

No, they don't.
That was never the idea. I think I started doing counts in mid 2017, when people were bitching about how robron were literally never on screen. Spoiler, that turned out not to be true, and they were solidly in the top 5 by whatever metric you used, usually in the top 3.
Every character gets background stuff. (Other than Cain.) Literally, every other character does. Charity had tons of background stuff in Jan-Feb, when she was on at all. Ross has now climbed up to the top 5 but he's had at least ten episodes this year that all he did was prop up the bar. Chas has a high scene average because she's background behind the bar in pub scenes. Every single character (other than that one BIG exception, which I do view as a serious PROBLEM) gets background stuff.
It's our turn. It sucks sometimes. Unless you want them on a short contract (they tend to have much higher screen time, the show making use when they've got them) there's nothing we can do about it. I am a robron shipper, but I do think we have to be aware that we're viewing it through a skewed lens here. Personally, I'm not massively unhappy with the content we're getting. I do think the lack of Seb is a missing link in their story which is a faux pas by the show, but otherwise, I'm not unhappy.
We want more robron, because we've had more before, and we've had really intense indepth years. Also both actors got burnt out and left. I'd rather have them both in limited episodes together, than not have them at all.

Characters who are close to overtaking their total last year.
Jai, 2025 episodes,: 47. This year so far, 42. Kerry, 2025: 70. So far this year, 52. Lydia, 2025: 44. This year, 53. Ryan, 2025: 22. This year, 17. Sam, 2025: 64. This year, 58.
Lydia is the first character to actually beat last years total episodes, and we're only in July.
I'm collating a separate post for the top scenes, but for Cain I just had to make this point separately.
Cain is (unsurprisingly) top of scenes this year on 417. This is shocking. Cain had a total of 495 scenes in the entire year of 2025, and he was one of the top 5 of that year anyway. Especially as we've now gone down to 5 eps a week, this is an insane number.

Right, the Cain specials I found were:
4th February, (Cain finds out about his diagnosis. 8) 10th March, (Cain tells the family about his cancer. 9) 25th March, (Cain and Charity, long scenes here. 6) 29th April, (Cain and Moira, Cain wanting to refuse treatment. 8)
There may be more Cain "specials" but that's what I found. That adds up to a total of 31 scenes for Cain. Usually 8 an episode or so, but the Charity special only had 6 because those scenes were a lot longer. I counted it whenever there was a camera break.
So that would make 386 scenes in 88 episodes with a 4.39 scene average without the specials.
No, it doesn't make a huge amount of difference!

Cain didn't appear this week at all. This is the second week this year he hasn't appeared in. Last year he was in every week at least once until late August, an incredible run.

No I don't, sorry! I do have the whole of 2025 for him on my spreadsheets at home, which from memory was 171 eps I think? But there's six episodes a week then to 5 now, so we should lose a portion of that.
