Frankenstein (2025) dir. Guillermo del Toro + paintings
I’m late as usual. My last submission for the @mlstaffappreciation week!
Adult!AU or Future!AU.
My headcanon AU:
After many time to fight Papillon, Ladybug and Chatnoir found his secret place and released to freedom the Pink Kwami of the butterfly from Papillon’s claws. Before of this, Papillon made researches on kwamis and the theory of quantic powers. For years he disappeared a bit but one day he revealed again, with a brand new kwami: WhiteMoth. He cloned the white(black) and the pink ones.
Adrien leaves his father’s home. He and Marinette are one. Tired of being just a puppet in his father’s hands, he starts to studying physics, his real passion. He is still a model, but just for Marinette’s collections.
Marinette became to famous with her creations. Now, she’s a strong rival of Gabriel Agreste, who disowned his own son for betraying him and supporting his competitor.
Chloe is assumed by Gabriel Agreste as a model, substitute of Adrien and him, who was Papillon for all these years, sees in her a potential ally. Many of his best akumas were created because of her spites. He testes on him his new kwami and uses his power to give power also on his submitted. Chloe becomes Ladybird (White Ladybird, A.k.a Propylea quatordecimpunctata) and assumes two new bodyguards for his own security, two twins. He uses his powers also on them, creating Golia and Thus. (A.k.a Goliath Scarabaeidae) I have other ideas, but I wait that the series will continue and gives me more material to think about. C:

Having second thoughts about this one because it is a bit more niche (I know everyone has their own headcanon for Zuko and Katara’s future together and this is just mine), a bit more indulgent, and SO cheesy; the dragging-a-loved-one-to-a-special-place-while-they-keep-their-eyes-covered-and-then-you- tenderly-tell-them-to-open-their-eyes trope for instance… Leave me alone; I couldn’t help myself. Haha I think we all know that Zuko would not abide Katara not getting an honorary statue if she was his Fire Lady. >.> This animatic gets in and out quickly, since I’m still working full time, and also at the time, I had quite a few prompts left. But now that I’m working on a Reunion Part II, I kind of wish I could have saved this one for later, but oh well, I gotta post for the prompt!

THE WAY MY TEARS ARE UNCONTROLLABLE THIS IS INSANE
the fact that our fandom did this-
dont get too caught up in thinking youre not good enough at art for your age
there is no age limit for learning or beginning art like your artistic career isnt over if youre not perfect and amazing by the "old" age of mid 20s and i know its hard to not compare yourself to younger people who you think are more talented or have more followers than you but this mindset is not good for anyone...
i feel like so many people misunderstand redemption arcs. they’re not about forgiving past actions. they’re not about softening previous behavior. redemption arcs are about realizing past behavior was heinous and resolving to be better, do better. that’s why so many redemption arcs fall apart upon close scrutiny.
redemption arcs do not rely on forgiveness! if a character is behaving a certain way just to be forgiven, that is not a good redemption arc! redemption arcs rely on people realizing their own behavior was bad and that they need to own up to the consequences. and those consequences can often include a lack of forgiveness!

This prompt inspired this whole animatic in my head, and I just HAD to get it out. Dedicated to my best friend from High School and my fellow Zutara comrade, @bekahknotmarley-blog. Also SOUND ON!

THIS IS AMAZING I HAVE NO WORDS
I feel like everybody and their mother has screamed about the crystal catacombs scene in Crossroads of Destiny, but… I haven’t done it yet, so ha!
I think my absolute favorite thing about the entire episode is this exact moment:
Zuko, the boy who has spent the past two seasons pulling back from and pushing away any offers of friendship or understanding, reaches out first.
Up until this point, I was half inclined to write Zuko off as a jerk who didn’t care much for other people and who really didn’t want to make connections with anyone his age (to be fair, my first introduction to the show was The Western Air Temple, so when I went back to watch the whole thing a few years later, pre-redemption Zuko annoyed the heck out of me. I knew he was going to switch sides all along, so dang it, I just wanted him to be good already). He had a string of virtual strangers reach out to him with offers of friendship only to push them away, and for the longest time, I chalked it up to Teenage Angst ©.
But then this scene happens, and Zuko is thrown into a dungeon with an enemy girl who rages against him and his nation, and rather than raging back, he finds a thread of connection between the two of them and grabs onto it with both hands. Because at his core, Zuko isn’t the dark, cynical angstlord that some of those earlier interactions would paint him as. He’s a boy who deeply, desperately wants those connections, who wants someone to understand him without all the pretenses that come with living as a refugee under a false name in a foreign country.
With Katara, there are no unpleasant secrets to keep hidden. Unlike Song, Jet, and Jin, she knows exactly who Zuko is. She knows that he’s on the wrong side of the war, she knows that he’s the son of the Fire Lord, and she knows that he’s spent the past several months trying to capture Aang. And unlike Aang, who still clings to century-old ideas about the world, Katara knows the worst of what the Fire Nation is capable of, and she harbors no illusions about the Fire Lord’s real intentions in the war. Katara, like all the others who have tried to befriend Zuko, has plenty of reasons to hate him. The difference is that she already knows it. There’s no danger of an accidental revelation turning her against him because Katara already sees him as an enemy.
And all of that makes the moment when he turns back to Katara so much sweeter to me. He has nothing left to lose in that moment and exactly zero expectation that his apology will bring anything but more yelling and hatred from her (why would it, when she knows all the worst things about him?). But he does it anyway. And rather than throwing it back in his face, Katara listens.
What makes this scene so remarkable to me isn’t the fact that Katara reaches out to Zuko. Her offer to heal his scar is incredible and it gets me every time, but she isn’t the first to offer him kindness, nor is he the first person she tries to befriend against steep odds.
What makes it remarkable is the fact that Katara is the first person who Zuko reaches out to.
And that rather than turning the other way, Katara reaches back.
I don’t think we talk about this enough
….but Zuko choosing Katara as his final battle companion to fight one of the most significant people in his life meant absolutely everything.
He chose her not only because of their oh-so-delicious combat compatibility, but because he trusted her explicitly above all else; because she understood.
He chose her because she forgave him; and because he was willing to do anything and everything to earn every bit of that forgiveness.
He chose her because he saw Katara for who she truly was; the light, the dark and all the other colors in-between. Because he saw her stripped of all control and pretense; saw her raw and bleeding and hurt and angry and all he could do was accept her without a moment’s hesitation.
He chose her because she saw him just as clearly as he saw her.
He chose her because he loved her. And because part of him knew he always would.
Because when Zuko chose Katara, he was choosing her as his partner for life.
And no one else would do, only Katara. (x)
The fact that we will never get a scene where Zuko rests his forehead against Katara’s— taking a moment to center himself while Katara lightly runs her fingers over his scar before completely cupping his cheek in comfort.
A tender moment where they both soak in the comforting silence, before slowly parting and communicating with just their eyes, fingers interlocked— before having to reluctantly let go, because they’re in the middle of a war and they just don’t have the time.
Zutara as a couple would spar all the time. Neither one can sleep? Spar. Want to mix their foreplay with heavy bending? Spar. Minor disagreement? “That’s it! Zuko, meet me in the pit!” “The what????” Like they have a nice garden in the back of the palace that’s a bit bigger than the turtleduck pond and that is the go to. The big difference being it doesn’t have any sort of water UNTIL firelady Katara decided to put a big ass fountain in there and Zuko knew why immediately “have you suddenly developed an interest in landscaping?” “Oh I just think this will look so nice here” “uh huh” he’s not fooled, she’s gonna use that fountain to kick his ass and he can’t wait.
Every time they spar the palace staff are STRESSED out. The advisors and ladies in waiting and counselors almost have heart attacks and they try SO HARD to dissolve all fights before their lord and lady can challenge each other but it never works.
[x] Bonus:
reblog this with how you watched avatar: the last airbender for the first time in the tags. i watched the first few episodes at my friend’s house and found the rest of the episodes on vimeo.
